it Definitly allows more of the surrondings to be viewed and is much easier to put on a tripod and get the whole shot at a close distance instead of having to put the camera further away

you can do just fine without one

you need to be spotted dude, your highjumps are fantastic along with your flips, i think you might be able to do the manpower gap in lisses, it sure as hell looks like it

The thing isn't that it is hard to do physically, it is hard to do mentally. The horizontal distance isn't that much, there is a decent amount of vertical drop so you need to be conditioned for that, but it really isn't physically demanding. If that same jump was simulated at ground level into a foam pit, i am sure people who don't even practice could get it.

The caps are called fisheye, and you can buy that to your camera, just look for your dimention on your camera and search for fisheye lenses. :D
