  • I have been watching eurovision since 2003. Every year everybody says:"This song should have won!Who have choosen this voiceless guy?".Everybody is always angry with a winner.Tastes differ.Of course,Amaury was better than most singers. He should not have taken a part in the contest, because this level (pop-level) is not for him.His producer should have thought about it.It was useless to count on the victory in this contest. .At least,Europe will see Baku.

  • My top 3 was: 1. France 2. Ireland 3. Sweden

Thing is, his final was really bad, with no crescendo and no emotions. Ok, he had sound problems at the begining and was probably scared but still...

Moreover, his reaction to his defeat was sooo childish and stupid... Very bad looser ! To those who don't know, he insulted everyone (azerbaidjan singers, french jury etc) Now hearing how he reacted, i'm glad he lost...

    And I'm from France :)

  • @Ellipsis52

If you don't mind, please tell me where you watched this poor and inept reaction of his.

Where you there or can it be watched online? I love his new album, but I'm interested in the person, too. (Even the dark sides :-) )

    Thank you very much.

  • @philo28

I'm sorry but I'm 99% sure there is no recording of his reaction. I know it because it was in every French newspapers, front page... He gave an interview to Le Parisien (a french newspaper) at 2:30 in the morning, just after the results. I'm sure you can find the articles on the french google news :)

  • @Ellipsis52

    Thank you!

You were right, I've found the article in no time, and because I don't speak French (shame on me), I used google's translation service. It was the funniest experience, but I think I got the gist. :-)

No, I won't hate him for what he said. I think his feelings are quite understandable, but of course he should have kept his irritation to himself or express it with more caution.

  • @Ellipsis52

I bet a lot of not-winning contestants had similarly dark thoughts, maybe they were just lucky not to be pestered with an interview at half past 2 in the morning.

Or maybe he just lacks experience handling the media, he is still really young after all.

    Still love his voice.

  • He actuallly apologized for what he said but still... Even his apologizes were weird and didn't seem honest.

If this can help you no hating him, he's from Corsica and ... well, people from there are known to have a "bad temper" and be proud of it ^^

    Still love his voice :)

  • @Ellipsis52 He's absolutely not Corsican, he's from Rouen, Northern France...

  • @buineto

Woops, you're right, sorry for the mistake ^^

Every papers said he was and i hadn't checked.... *stupid journalists* :)

  • Wow. Just wow.

  • France should have won! This guys voice and this song is absolutely above the normal quality of what usually shows up in Eurovision!

Amaury!!! GREAT JOB! BEAUTIFUL VOICE! Keep up the good work!

  • No need of words. This is so beautiful! ♥

  • France should have won. Amaury Vassili is incredible and the song is wonderful. :D

  • a voice that shocks the soul, sognu is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The results do not mean anything. Vassili is the winner. Congratulations from Slovenia

  • he was in tune for this rehearsal - shame he wasn't this good in the final - he'd have won!

  • So sorry he not won! But we'll love him in anyway! He is the BEST!

  • I'm hungarian.

Heard this song over 100 times and i still get shivers in the end 2:38 - 2:43.

    He was the Best.

  • France's idea was great. Hey, we are masters of the opera, let's send an opera singer to the Eurovision! Well, it wasn't that easy as you can see. In Eurovisions singers (or so they call themselfs..) try to pretend something what they are not. Okay, there really is some good singers for example... Well, my point was that France's idea was spectacular but too many people skip it. Amaury was good and did the best he can and we can still enjoy this great song.

    Greetings from Finland.

  • Its a shame that he didn´t get more points on the competition yesterday!!!

He has the best male voice in Contest yesterday and made a great performance with an amazing song. If you only look on singing he should have won.

So sad. France is a beautiful country which deserves a better place

Wish you good luck for the contest next year from your friends in Germany

  • For me you are the best!!!

  • Awesome!!!

  • Very god song. Congratulation France from Spain! however, I see the rhythm of the songs is too in crescendo that the viewer waits for something spectacular that never comes a part of the song itself

  • Very god song. Congratulation France from Spain! however, I see the rhythm of the songs is too in crescendo and at the end nothing happens . the viewer waiting for something spectacular thant The viuwer wait for something spectacular that never comes a prt of the song itsefl

  • I really like this song and his voice is amazing! I would have voted him by the whole of Italy...

  • so disappointed that this song didn't even made it to the top ten. This truly is a masterpiece!

  • 12 from greece <3

  • @katerinahra1 Hear! Hear!

  • @ChianBroadcaster it is therefore Eurovision is so stupid. countries only vote at their neighbors

  • Poor Amaury!! Yesterday, he was very nervous, and he hadn't got his amazing voice... The 2nd rehearsal was better than the final performance.

  • France should must have won this chalange! He's the best !

  • had he only sung like this in the final ... maybe he would have won. guess he was too excited. however, incredible voice, keep it up :)

  • So good!

I´ve enjoyed a lot this song. Perhaps he was a little bit nervous on stage..

    Great voice, great song.

    Congratulations France!!

    Spain.

  • WOW this kid has an amazing voice!!! He should have received more credit. Too bad we can´t vote. Love from Guatemala

  • Stunning! He should have won!!

  • 12 Points from Germany ♥

  • I really prefer the song from ireland to win.. this is a bit boring.. and the other is more dinamic.

  • he is so strong

  • 12 points from spain

  • 12 points for AMAURy (France)

8 Points for PARADISE OSCAR (FINLAND)

But the best.... HOMENS DA LUTA!

  • 12 POINTS FROM TURKEY......

  • Just superb! 12 points from Australia

  • Beautiful song ... well done to the singer (extremely talented) and to the composers. Deserves the 12 points or more. Alone on stage and that is quite rare but will the stage presence prove to be a big minus? Bonne chance from the beautiful island of Malta.

  • Alone on stage, without any circus, song is not in english....

    Simply beautiful!He got my vote!!!!

  • @DEKILI83 Yes!!! You are right!!!

  • Booooring, go to opera if you like this kind of music, eurovision is a show so i'd love to see Sweden winning, i wonder where were all the ''good music'' lovers when other countries sent opera, hmm..... maybe cause this song is exposed so much that is why you like it, otherwise you would have never noticed it, I hope SWEDEN (07) WINS, let's show bookies that they don't make the winner, it is all the people in europe... 07 vote

  • @mariokingfire

Eric Saade is a talentless nasal voiced pretty boy with too much self-esteem. It is embarrassing that we in Sweden couldn't find somebody talented to send this year. The song it self sounds like a combination between Boney M's "Nightflight to venus" and Lilli & Sussies "Oh mama can't you tell". A real low water mark. It is depressing that such load of crap could hit 3:d place in ESC. France actually sent somebody with talent and a good song.

  • from my opinion this is the best eurovision song ever!!!!

  • amazing.twelve points from greece!

  • /watch?v=YaK3iBcg1as

  • Moldova Winner

  • i just fell asleep watching this

  • Hi! :) I'm spanish and I love this song! I can't vote for him beacause I'm living in France, but I'm pretty sure that he is going to win! ♥

  • It's a bit boring isn't it?

  • @dmh2511 Boring? How can this be boring? I guess that people have stopped appreciating good music. I am sorry that dance songs with stupid words are better appreciated than the quality ones! And after all, you need a little bit of intelligence to understand this kind of music and love it as it is priceless... what's wrong with me wondering so much? :)

  • @dmh2511 it's obviously boring if you don't like people who are actually talented, unlike most eurovision performers :)

  • @dmh2511 run along back to X-factor. Music of this calibre isn't for you my friend.

  • Ireland for win...

  • Allez Amury! 12 points pour la France!

  • gladiator special edition...nice song but not for eurovision..

  • ZZzzz ...

  • this song is for an opera and not for eurovision... i hope it will not win because next year eurovision will be full of ballads...

  • 5 WORDS - a poor mans ANDREA BOCELLI

  • Finland's song is absolutely the best one, will win whole the competition

  • I'm spanish, but I want that Amaury will win Eurovision, his song and his voice are amazing!!

And the song of Spain is very bad ¬¬

    sorry for my english ;)

  • just beutiful....

  • great voice, bot boring song

  • FRANCE will be the winner!!!

    PARIS 2012

  • My Vote from Germany: 1.) UK 2.)France 3.)Germany

  • Heavenly !!

  • hate this song ;/// hope that wins one of them: uk / ireland / germany / estonia / lithuania / denmark / sweeden / azerbaijan / russia :)))

  • 1st ireland 2nd azerbaijan 3rd france

  • Comment removed

  • great voice...but irelands song is going to win way more catchier :) go ireland :) ireland...douze point

  • Perfect **

  • switzerland 1

    ireland 2

    sweeden 3

    germany 4

    france 5

5º GEORGIA (original, innovador y potente)

  • 1. bosnia

    2.ireland

    3.sweden

    4.germany

    5. ...france

  • It's all about Belgium, They have got some real vocal talent and don't rely on backing cds to carry the feeling of the song. Don't get me wrong, he can sing, but there's not as much skill doing this as what Belgium are going to pull off

  • GO FRANCE GO

Yep I've 19 yrs but in 2001 we did think that it would be PARIS 2002

But now I can say YES

Kuz am really proud to be french this year!!!

    Please vote for us

  • Not my usual cup of tea, but its one of the few songs that will send goosebumps throughout europe. He sounded slightly out of key in the beginning. And as for stage presence and act, its 0. I still think its gonna get lots of 12s, not just because of the juries. Im french, and this year, Ill keep Champagne in the fridge for the first time.

  • Just wanted to add to my comment - I'd much rather prefer a beautiful French song to a classical song like this to be quite honest.

  • The song ain't bad. The guy can sing very well. I just don't like it. It does NOT move me at all. There's no climax this song works to and it just meanders on pretty nicely....And I DO like this kind of music mostly but this just doesn't go anywhere. I REALLY hope France doesn't win. No offence.

  • who made him transpose his song lower???!!! this was much more special in the higher key where he was singing in his counter tenor register...i thought this was certain to win until i listened to this rehearsal...what a pity

  • This reminds me of Jeronimas Milius Lithuania Eurovision song 2008

  • I love it!!!!12 points from Russia!!!Just not sure if everyone will understand this type of music!U should have class to love it ;))))))

  • As popular operatic songs go the french have alot to learn from queen's night at the opera album. Also he looks like a Raphael from soul calibur.

    Blue should win though.

  • In my opinion these opera songs just dont fit in Eurovision, maybe someone who understands and listens to opera may think that it is a beautiful song.

But the majority of the people who watch eurovision dont give crap about opera, unless its a little bit more modern and catchy somehow.

  • and the moments when i realize i'm learning spanish and not french, and the feeling what i got then are invaluable :')

  • This is the most drearey song in the competition.. sounds like a funeral march .. AWFUL !

  • @supercowboy79 I agree, dont know why their the favorite???????

  • boring

  • PLEASE WIN

  • Great song! Magnificent voice! Perfect look! You are the winner! <3

  • Wow.

  • This is the best song this year and hopefully a winner. I realize that people who are in love with classical music ONLY, criticise Eurosong, so I guess this song will make them happier, but this competition has given us many great songs. Think of 1995. That was one of the best songs ever, and it is in same category as Amaury. Not to mention great pop songs over the years. You cannot deny that this competition has attracted many talented people. And most of the time best song does win!

  • I really do like this song , but i just cant imagine it as the Eurovision winner

  • @DaNNNiiiEEElL You know

    I'm from France

and I keep saying that this might pass or break

    It depends on the final!!!

  • i disagree that the song is inappropriate for eurovision... we have seen so many bad songs and this one is not good for what reason??? because there arent ppl hoping around? because there are no feathers or shiny costumes?? because he s not blonde with huge boobs? i would say that is really really brave for france that they sent this song, it doesnt matter for me in which place it ll end up, but the attempt is really worth it!!

    vive la france!!!

  • VOTE FOR FRANCE AND GREECE THIS YEAR!! BEST VOICES, BEST LIVE PERFOMANCES!! :)) GO FRANCE, GO GREECE!!!

  • In terms of music tradition of East and West, there will be a fight between Gregorian and Byzantine music. Amaury Vassili adn Lukas Yiorkas represent the two traditions.

  • For God's sake! Will everyone calling this a poor song just because they're not cultured enough to get it GROW UP? This is an example of the sort of music France produce, and classical music has had a surge of popularity in countries like the UK and around the world. It's a perfectly valid entry to the ESC. It's a music contest and it's about time we had other entries besides middle of the road pop songs.

  • @cardwitch91 Well said

They should stop criticising this song and look at their own entry!!!

    This song is so fabulous!!!!

  • nice but wrong competition. cheap attempt to win with a bolerolike song. use this one for figure skating, not for eurovision.

    1 Eric Saade

    2 Lena

    3 Jedward

  • Comment removed

  • He has amazing voice, but I do not like the song very much

  • no offence to the french but all i have to say is.......BORING......

  • how the hell is this song nice people? come on!! what about denmark? and SWITZERLAND?!

SORRY FRANCE...BUT NO! HELL NO!! IF THIS SONG WINS....EUROVISION WILL BE EVEN WORSE THAN IT IS ALREADY PERCEIVED BY PEOPLE!

VERY VERY BAD SONG IN MY OPINION!

DENMARK OR SWISS SHOULD WIN THIS YEAR <3

  • @dudecool15 it is obvious that you have no relation with real music...but i can't say you 're wrong, because this is the majority watching this competition. I can't me objective with this song, because I have classican studies in music (plus i'm a student opera singer), but I will disagree with you that eurovision will be even worse with this kind of songs. It's not getting any worse... All but 3-4(?)songs yesterday were so out of tune that i couldn't listen. And so did many people I talked with

  • @dudecool15

u can't feel the beauty in yr heart, that's why u react as that.Denmark and Switzerland are not even close to this:P

  • @dudecool15

no one understand the dannish entry just like this song

But I do like the Swiss and the Danish one really

But this is my country!!!And I must add that if It wins it's Europe which has spoken

    ALLER LA FRANCE

  • beautiful song and performance..not sure if its too good for eurovision..best of luck from ireland!!

  • crap song. this is not opera. this is eurovision.

  • I CANT SEE WHY THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FAVOURITE THIS YEAR..!

ITS JUST A POOR ATTEMPT OF MAKING THIS AN OPERA...SORRY, BUT THERES BETTER SONGS THIS YEAR.

I HOPE ONE DAY EUROVISION WONT BE ABOUT POLITICS AND BE COMPLETELY FAIR PLAY (ONLY THE HOST SHOULD BE DIRECTLY IN THE FINALS)

  • OMG!! His voice is incredible... Greetings from Turkey!!!

  • /watch?v=92sO0FNUctg&feature=player_embedded

Watch the second rehearsal from the 3js !! Holland !! Much better then the 1st rehearsal. Vote for the Netherlands PLEASE!!

    Greetings From the Netherlands :D

BTW france will winn :D:D:D:D Love your song :D

  • @vampie619 thnks holland

    I don't understand your song

but will vote for you Israel and Denmark in the final!!!! n semi-final

  • Εxcellent performance!!!!I hope you win!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love from Greece!!!

  • real music....should be in top 5 along with Italy, B&H and Greece!

    BRAVO - SUPER!

Germany's song not bad...not bad at all!!!

    all the best from Greece!

  • Jalousy and jalousy....

  • i'll close tv whern France leave there... pppf... I dislike 100% this song!!!!

  • What a beautiful voice, really! Must be hard to sing that high :P

  • 12 points from Greece. Congratulations you are the winners!!!

  • Pure class! If ever a song deserved to win Eurovision, this is it. If ever a singer deserved to win Eurovision, then Amaury is that singer.

  • don't like the kind of song but his voice is simply amazing!

  • 12 points from Greece!! Such a great voice!

  • @mew4mikkel Because he's got a lot going for him. He's handsome, he has an amazing voice, a beautiful song, and above all he is different. There is no overall favourite this year among to "traditional" ESC entrants this year. Estonia, Hungary, Sweden, the UK, Denmark, Azerbaijan... they are all lacking *something* that makes them different. In that type of climate a different song is more likely to stand out.

I wish France and Amaury all the luck. They deserve success.

  • @mew4mikkel Jalousy !!!! Du bist Deutsch ( die stupid ??? "die" ist Deutsch)

  • @mew4mikkel , carefull with french dude:) that's a music contest right ?! you can don't like it ,that's your opinion but don't get racist "stupid" danish ;)

  • @mew4mikkel

Don't worry, not everyone can understand beauty. Looks like u can't)))) Welfare state bla bla

  • GOLD.

  • GO TO LA SCALLA NOT THE EUROVISION

  • This is the odds on favourite to win, then the UK then Estonia!!!

  • @swinnie16 Wrong, Ireland are 2nd favourites then Uk and Azerbaijan!!

  • @mikiebart01 Yeah now but when I wrote it that was the odds on that day, I had them up so I am not wrong, its just changed!!!

  • he's hot,he wears many clothes

  • Amaury, you definately win on the background visuals.

And given the sound qualify on these videos are poor he still sounds AMAZING!

  • Fabulous!!!!!!.... good luck Amaury....

  • I just prefer other sorts of music for ESC. I'd never vote for something like this. I suppose he is good, but he is on the wrong stage.

  • the worst ever and he sings out of key!! 0 points

  • I have 11 years music education- and can say - he is absolutt amazing. pure beauty- both song - music and lyrics. He is amazing. I will vote for him inntil my phone explodes:))

  • @OlHa1972 thk from France....

  • @OlHa1972 18 years music education and i will agree with you:). I'm just wondering...what is he doing in a competition like eurovision, and if people can estimate this kind of voice...but I hope so! And the background is wonderful...!!

  • @OlHa1972

congratulations on you education, but i think that we realy dont care!

  • @HrPeterChristensen

du åpenbart bryr deg siden du svarer meg:))))

  • @OlHa1972 or untill you bankruptcy :D

  • @blackcalist0

    yes, that for sure:)))

  • the most boring song that esc ever had:(((

  • @giotou The most ridiculous comment I've ever read

  • @giotou You obviously haven't seen many ESC songs then.

  • @giotou not boring, but I hope not win!

  • and this is the favorite??? I think EBU just want to meet next year in France as it did with Germany. Everything is set up. This singer sings out of key most of the time. How can he be the front runner? Well, I am not surprized, if Lena won and Azerbaijan got 3rd in Moscow, then even my granny can go and sing there.

  • Better than 1st rehearsal but still not the final version......

  • PARIS 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • VOTE IN My Channel to Predict the WINNER OF EUROVision 2011!

TOP 3 SO FAR.. UK, SWEDEN, HUNGARY!! VOTE!

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!

    I love it....

  • i think this will flop

  • @clayscomedycorner I agree. This is gonna end up 7th or 8th. There won't be enough Televotes for this one. It's hard to predict a winner this year, because there are many pleasant songs, but no one making you jump out of your chair. Estonia is also one of these favourites going to end up at a lustreless 10th place. I think Denmark (Europop heard over and over again), Turkey (Diaspora) and Ireland/Germany (The unusual) might have a good chance. I like none of them though.

  • Amaury wee waiting for that since 1977 so I cross my finger and keep the faithe, Amaury , nous attendons une victoire française depuis 1977, la France est derrière toi.....GO AMAURY
