im poor butt one thing i dont do is use a pc sound card very danger is if you f up the bios its done if you keep about thing your music will sound cheep dont mean to sound mean butt i did that one time by useing the pc sound card it burn the pc bios and was un fix a bale
@s006snake fuck you if you think it safe to plug right into your pc sound card than you are a retard case if you fry the sound bios than it is the end of the pc
I have a Dell Studio Laptop with the JBL sound internal setup. Works fine. I am a Studio engineer and to tell the truth sound card are really only limited by the inputs and outputs these days. Allot of the processing is software based and works fine.
@PaisaBoyTV right, i didnt have an external interface so the laptop input was all i had at the time. now i have the zoom h4n and can use that instead...
can anyone help me ? I just got the Korg XL, and i want to record some sounds to Pro tools ! i plug the XL via USB, i only need this ? Cause i cant hear a thing . i'm on a imac.
I can play it with my amp, i'm new at this.. very new .
You don't need the MicroCube, you could have connected the KP3 to the input of the Microkorg XL, use it as audio thru (Shift + Vocoder) and connect directly the MKXL outputs into your laptop.
I wanna try Linux and Ardour sooooo bad, but my interface is a Firestudio and I've been waiting forever for some Linux drivers from ANYONE and no luck =[ Windows 7 lets me get stuff done but I've had my eye on Linux for way too long =\
lol get wubi and try it out. Ardour is ok i personally dont favor it atm. I perfer windows for DAW's since the plugins are endless and top notch (even the free ones). Krystal audio engine and Audacity are my fav editors for windows. Krystal Audio Engine is sort of like ardour i guess.. it allows 16 tracks tops + 2 plugins per each track (not including EQ wich is seperate so thats 3 tops if u count that). Ardour allows unlimmited everything but the VSTS in linux eh.
so, im new to this stuff. Can someone help me out? I just bought a microkorg xl and I was wondering what else i need to set it up with my MAC. Do i really have to buy all the stuff he has in this video?
is it better to use both the left and the right outputs on the microkorg, or is ok to just use the mono? if they lead into one jack, what's the difference?

You should be using a audio interface, not your computers internal sound card.

@simonced youre right. i was just using the microcube (for the video) because its louder than my laptop speakers.

you can connect your microkorg xl directly to your mac using e.g. a midi-to-usb cable. you dont need anything else.
nickleus1977 2 years ago
@nickleus1977 i did that but im not getting any sound? by the way im using garageband

In order to use the Kaossilator, do you need to have that KP3 to plug it into?
Every video I see has the KP3, and I wanna know before I buy it.
fickafickaphil 2 years ago
no you don't need it. the kp3 is just a sampler.
