    I am thinking about building one of these.  How long did it take and how much did the hardware/software cost?

  • Thanks! Took about 40 hours and around 300 bucks. The most expensive parts are the controller board and the stepper motors.

  • Nice machine. Are you not going to shield off does bearings on your moving table? They are rolling on the chips.

  • I would sure like you to make a video about your Machine. Show us what motors, screws, rails, and so on. You seem to have a great knack for this.

  • Thats the same one that im building. Im mostly done just waiting for the motors.

    What software are you using, and is that PVC that your cutting?

  • Mach3 is the control software. I'm cutting a foamed PVC called "Komatex". Good luck on your machine!
