  • How you get in?

  • I attended many games at Shea starting starting from as far back as the Tom Seaver, Cleon Jones, Félix Millán days. The NY Yankees also played at Shea when Yankee Stadium 2 was under construction. Now, both those stadium are gone.

  • Is the entire stadium blown up and gone????????

  • @Coolkid12ism Gone...Goodbye.:o(

  • snuck in?

  • Im Sure if the Wilpons had money build a whole new stadium They could've renovated shea! Im so dissapointed. I can't believe they copied another stadium! IT ISN'T EVEN UNIQUE! I can't believe they wouldn't just go through and fix things! INSTEAD KNOCKING DOWN A PIECE OF HISTORY! The Wilpons don't know shit about baseball! They are in it for the Money 100%

  • I miss Shea Stadium wish this never had to happen.

  • how did you get in there you just walked in

  • how the heck were these folks allowed in there without hardhats?

  • I went to my last game at Shea in the summer of 2008, and honestly remember nothing about the it except that it was a day game. My only memory is standing there after it was over, knowing that it was my last day at Shea, and not wanting to leave. My teenage son couldn't understand why, but someday he will.

  • NOOOOOO!!!THE BEATLES PLAYED HERE YOU CANT TEAR IT DOWN!!TH F**ERS!!!!

  • @TheChocobread I think you are a little late to the party.

  • @TheChocobread So What?????

  • Respond to this video... Who Cares?

  • wow great security they had there

  • How were you guys able to sneak into Shea and not get caught?

  • Sad! When I left Shea for the last time in August, 2008, I burst into tears. Thank You For all those memories.

  • i sucked my 1st dick in there =[ heh... imy shea

  • @nippletease yuhh a liar

  • @nippletease yuhh lying

  • There goes a peice of my childhood. First Mets game vs. the Reds 1977.

  • I miss you Shea.

  • RIP, we will never forget. love u

  • I had many great memories here. They should have refurbished it instead if completely taking it down. It so freakin sad seeing that

  • Very sad images here - I remember my first time as a kid; a bright sunny Sunday, now this death scene.

  • Shea Stadium, where in 1965, history was made.

  • I grew up there watching my Mets and I actually miss it and it's history....New place doesn't have it.Tired of these teams leveling there history

  • Great video....I had a lot of fun there in the 70's.

  • you can see madoff in the wreckage lookin for the wilpons last nickel

  • R.I.P Shea Stadium, Place of one of the Beatles concerts

  • Did you guys ever get caught, and if you did, how long were you guys in jail if you did go to jail?

  • I'd take Shea over Citi any day.

  • I know Shea was run down and lacked the amenities of the new place but there was something endearing about the old place. It's sad to see it in ruins.

  • I don't know why it is so hard for grown people to shoot video without the camera jumping up and down like a yo-yo. Why is that?

  • im a yankee fan but im still sad to see this place go beacuse i have many friends who are mets fans and i would go 2 games with them and my baseball team would also go to a game here every year

  • Comment removed

  • @kingmorgan14 Im a Mets fan and totally agree They are horrible

  • Saw The Who there in 1982.

  • glad its gone what a shithole you met fans should be thankful to get a new ballpark

  • I live in Pittsburgh and was very sad when they demolished Three Rivers Stadium. There was alot of history but once I saw PNC Park I understood that a change needed to be made.

  • lets make a new stadium exactly like shea stadium!!!!

  • Hello dogtownskater777: I Agree With You 110% ...But If You Have Ever Been To The Memorable Games Like I Have.....Shea Can NEVER Be Replace. I Have Been To Citifield And If You Ask Me......It's Horrible (Everywhere I Turn All I See Is Advertisements,Advertisements,Advertisements) What They Really Should Have Done Is Make MORE LEG ROOM & Less Advertising). Even Leaving The Stadium There Is No More Ramps now it's tight stairway

  • @sixflgs15 i know what you mean, but i meant i thought it would be cool to have a new stadium identical or very similar to shea, because not only was it perfect for baseball, but it was a great stadium for concerts.

  • tiger stadium was better

  • If John Lennon were alive ... I bet this would not have happened

  • I would have sooo cried if i was there. I went to a game once when I was a kid and it was like a landmark to let me know that i was close to home. I lived in corona. They shudda built citi field to replicate shea, kinda like how the yankees did with their new stadium.. shea was too old to renovate, It could have been saved if it were better taken care of

  • Pearl Bailey is crying in her grave.........

  • and were are the BEATLES?

  • ...why did they demolish it?

  • @breetgan

awhhh, because the rich basterds complained how thier wasnt enough sky boxes for them.

  • i was there once may 2007 against the cubs, mets won on a game ending walk. mets fans yelling after the game yankees suck, at least they weren't saying cubs suck. citi field looks awesome though!

  • Say what you will about Shea it was home. If Doubleday would have owned the team the Mets would still be playing at Shea not the Ebbits Field Shrine. Perhaps it would have been renovated

  • thats sad to think the beatles preformed here and its being torn down

  • @screamingskull1995

    Meh..

Do you know how many greats played here.

This is destruction of history. :-( I hate seeing old parks go.

  • @thewhistler i dont really follow baseball

  • i went to one of the last games in shea stadium

  • @meikd423 What are you the NYPD or some other authority trash? This is YouTube buddy not a place for u to preach ur legal bullshit... Nobody cares...

  • Too many memories there

  • it basically makes u a little emotional seein the place like that cause of all the memories that Shea had....im saving everything I have from my last game at Shea

  • damn tem the beatles played there

  • great video! thanks for posting it on youtube!!

  • farewell shea stadium

  • Shea Stadium was Great! there were no bells and whistles, Citifield could Never have The Memories Of the 69'and 86 Met's Teams, Maybe in 40 Years the will Demo Citifield and Build a New Shea Stadium

  • that would be something! i wish i can be around to see it!!

  • how did you guys get in there?

  • YEAH REALLY HOW DID YOU?

  • cit field doesnt have the same affect that shea stadium had. the games were so much more fun to go to at shea. The crowd was louder, the game seemed better, it had that baseball stadium smell, and it just drew your attetion to the game more. I guess the mets sucking last year just sucked the fun out of the games.

  • Man, I loved Shea! My favorite was how damned loud the place would get during a rally, homerun, etc. The place had such an electric atmosphere!

  • even though shea was somewhat a piece of crap compared to all the other stadiums, IT WAS OUR PIECE OF CRAP :D.

  • I agree.

  • This is so sad to watch. I grew up going to games at both Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium.

Why were they in such a hurry to tear it down?

Now, we just have empty space.

  • OH MY GOD ITS BECKS lol

  • i dont care how stupid this was....

    this was breathtaking

  • i gotta say even thought a yanks fans u guys had balls to do that

  • looks like theres been a nuclear attack

  • pretty freaken stupid to put your life in risk just to see the inside of that place itsa not historical like ys.who cares mets sucks oh and santana's careers over hes getting the tommy john surgery knowones careers the same after that he was one of the good pitchers on that team now hes gone too bad glad the twins got rid of him hes washed up.

  • the beatles concert... 1965...

I haven't even gotten out of school yet /old enough to sit on those bleachers where history was made......

it's pretty depressing it's not there anymore...

  • Citi Field is cursed... that is why the Mets are so bad this year.

  • this is an amazing video ! how the hell did you guys get in ??? How was there no security ??? Yankee stadium has security 24-7. I cant believe you guys were able to go in and even walk up to the loge and mezanine levels !! Seriously dangerous ! Which makes this more amazing of a video...and Im a yankee fan! did you guys ancounter any security at all???

  • RIP William A. Shea Municipal Stadium from a Yankee fan.

I remember the Yankees using Shea temporarily when the original Yankee Stadium renovated during the 1974 and 1975 season and in one game in 1998 where a beam collapsed.

Shea may not have the history as the original YS, but it hosted some memorable games including the 1986 WS Game 6 against the Red Sox, the 2000 Subway Series Game 5 thriller, and Games 6 and 7 vs. the Cardinals in the 2006 NLCS.

  • Joe Carter, Homerun, 93 World Series.... MVP

    dont forget it

    house that Joe built

    COUNT IT!!

  • were u allowed to go in there. and yea tht was risky but sweet. Its almost creepy to go inside such a huge stadium while being demoilshed. by the way what happened during the video when u said oh my God @ 5:50. Neway sick video.

  • Long time fan of The Mets, never a fan of Shea! That place was the worst especially watching The Jets play there with that freezing winter wind whipping around. Glad they got a new ballpark, and a beautiful one at that!

  • That was almost like what my dad said about Shea; a dump.

But to be fair, he is a Yankee fan while I'm a Met guy.

  • Risky adventure, but good documentary.

Glad you didn't talk too much while recording. You leave the viewers to watch in peace.

  • how did u get in

  • good riddance

  • interesting view

  • the mets needed a new stadium but yankee stadium was just fine to me plus all the history in it.

  • Dangerous move. Some of those levels without the beams intact are at risk of collapse from a strong wind. Captivating video nonetheless. Good job.

  • They had nothing to lose... the building was going down anyway.

Nonetheless, I agree, it is definitely unsafe.

  • They are not at risk for collaspe from a strong win. Areas in risk of falling are the ones they are demolishing. Areas they were are were stripped, but still structurely sound

  • did you take anything for a souviner?

  • u should have tooken a shit on the concreat

  • shea stadium had no history yankee stadium had millions of history

  • fuck you

  • btw mets suck they lost 4 in a row and got swept my the yankees haha go yankees

    mets

    entire

    team

    suck

  • you should learn you shit before you start talking...the mets have 9 injured players(not including ryan church who had the flu)...yanks have 3 are missing, we have a left fielder, a shortstop, a cenerfielder, another left/cetner fielder, a first baseman, 4 pitchers, and a second baseman

  • thats not my problem the mets should work work out more then insted of being lazy on there asses before game time the yankees work out so they wont get injured and the mets suck they lost 4 in a row LETS GO YANKEES

  • all you can say is mets lost four in a row...good job...you must be some smart fuckin scholar. and how can u say a major league club doesnt work out, the the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard, thats why they have trainers and shit and before u can actually say something besides that same old bullshit youve been saying just shut the fuck up

  • your fighting with a 16 year old, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • im 17

  • yeah, me too man.

  • A fine job of documenting the remains of Shea and a double thumbs up for being sneaky enough to enter the stadium, or whats left of it, to document your work. I only hope that you told some soil or a seat or anything that can be used as a keepsake. A reminder of the old stadium for many years to come!! Good Job!!

  • Thanks for posting. Kind of sad it brought back lots of memories. Shea is where I saw my first mlb game back in 1965, Met vs Dodgers. I will always remember the green of the grass and the lights. Dodger pitcher Don Drysdale hit a home run to win the game that night. I also remember seeing Fernando Valenzuela (yeah I'm a Dodger fan) at a sold out game during "Fernando Mania". Great job and thanks again for posting.

  • ty for posting this, lotta magic there

  • wtf, u hopped the fence?

  • Comment removed

  • Great work and thanks for posting this video. Amazing that there no security anywhere around for that long. Too bad that Shea did not allow a film crew to document the deconstruction of Shea.

  • You guys had alot of guts going inside shea. wish i was there with. Did you take anything out from what is left from shea?

  • I was waiting to hear, "HEY! You kids-get your asses outta here!". Good job all around. I walked those aisles since 1966and I'm gonna miss it all. But...how DID you get in there? An off day for da crew?

  • sad..

  • hows u get in/?

  • you guys are retards

  • Nice video although dont di a crazy stunt like this , u dont wanna be killed =\

  • If I am not mistaken I read that these guys got arrested for trespassing. I read it in the NYP. A cop, his girlfriend and a buddy of theirs charged with trespassing around the time this vid was posted. Definately got balls. Not because of the arrest thing, but I would never risk a piece of steel or concrete killing me at Shea Stadium.

  • You guys definitely have some balls going in there. Props.

  • wow , how did u get in there??? Very interesting ,kinda sad

  • It seems like a cross between Blair Witch Project meets Cloverfield...especially if they filmed it at night. Could you imagine? I wish I was there.

  • howd you get in?

  • Oooooh, look at the Mets logo...at SHEA STADIUM!. Wow, what an amazing discovery! Too bad you were never recruited by Indiana Jones.

  • I've watched the video and it seems that not much of anything Mets existed. Everything was stripped bare so it was actually odd that the logo was still there. Indiana Jones is fictional.

  • You guys coulda been killed! Pieces of concrete and steel can let go at any time, weak floors, cracked ramps, but a GREAT VIDEO!

  • That was like "Cloverfield" with out the monsters!! Who was that courageous little blonde kid??

  • home of the empty space!

there was nothing... omg. I still remember my first game back in '95 vs. the Braves. Then the last game, hell that whole last weekend, I just cried my eyes out- having to say goodbye to Shea, and to close the retail stand I worked in for two years for the last time. The retail stands were already gone by the time they took this- dat hurt to see.

  • whats sheas stadium...

  • i envy you

  • sick! but, kinda creepy

  • I think I saw Jimmy Hoffa in that rubble!!

  • wha is that? The Blair Witch Project: Shea Stadium edition?

  • thanks again! for us who are out-of-town it's like being there!

i've been in there years ago when it was that quiet, but now it's strange...

    can almost hear the p.a....

"...coming around to the plate for the mets - the center fielder mookie wilson!"

  • it is more tragic

  • That has to be one of stupidest things ever written. The end of a ballpark vs. the end of more than 2,000 lives? Are you kidding me?

  • I envy and salute you.

  • Crazy S.O.B's but God bless u for the footage!

  • Awesome, I was at the last game, it's eerie, yet kinda beautiful the shots that you guys got.

  • On one hand, thanks for taking this video of what was left of my beloved Shea last month. On the other hand, took one hell of a chance not getting hurt and especially endangering the young one who was with you. I recently took pictures of what was left, but from the parking lot and Roosevelt Ave. Goodbye Shea!

  • I dont care if you got away with it, you are some seriously stupid ass people walking around a demolition site. You better cover your tracks because they can still find and arrest you for trespassing.

  • Who's more stupid? Them for going inside there or you for watching all 6 minutes and 21 seconds of it. I think we can all agree that it was nice for someone to go and get footage like this to share with the rest of us loyal Mets fans.

  • WOW! Great work for getting inside. How'd ya manage that?

  • two of the biggest assholes to go up to the top deck you lucky u didnt get hurt

  • thanks guys, for getting this exclusive footage.

  • they must have did that early in the morning

  • I hope these people don't get in trouble for this video. Thanks for sharing it. Amazed that nobody saw them.
