Glad you like the video. Been playing since 1983...I'm always going back to the basics, trying to improve my rolls and other Rudiments or improving my tempo or phrasing. Keep in touch!
Thanks Man. I am in 7th grade and my band teacher had tryouts because a bunch of people wanted to do percussion. One of them was drumrolls. Thank You Soo Much Helped Me Get First Chair In Band!!!!
Hey! I'm so sorry for not getting back to you sooner! But yeah, I'm so glad this video helped you out...check out my blog for more videos thanks for watching
I've been playing for ~12 years and I'm still not that good at this, I'm a very good band drummer you know, but as I am self learned I discovered this just a couple of years ago. Thanks for the help! it'd really nice to play like you did.
thanks alot i tthis really helped i knew i was supposed to use double bounce but i didnt use the right techniche and this pretty much explained wat i needed to know great video dude
Cool practice pad drumroll!Could you do them on a snare? I would like to hear tom rolls as i like the one heard on"Here's Lucy" years ago. Thanks for sharing! Brainy
Hey, thanks for the vid! :-) Im a complete begginer and i would love to learn just snare rather than kit drums. Are there training of quiter (for the neighbours sake :P) snares for practice such as those in your vid, and also what sticks are best for a begginer? I dont know anything about drums so any help will be great ;-)
its like when you drop a ball. you drop the stick and let it bounce and drop again. like a ball when you drop a ball it hits the ground and bounces after it bounces 2 times then you grab it. with this i find it easy to put a little pressure with thumb and pointer finger. kinda like taking a ping pong ball and letting it bounce and then taking a ping pong paddle and putting it on top of the ball and lowering it. makes the ping pong ball bounce faster. same when you put a little pressure
i watched this video about 12 times...and can't get the doubles down...i have my drum pad right now practicing...i just can't get them to bounce...i'm a good all around drummer except for the doubles...im real good at singles..but doubles would help..can you give me advice please?...im really getting frustrated with not being able to do these...i can do them slow but cant go fast at all...
Start from scratch, take a week and do nothing but just dropping the stick on the drum and letting it bounce; it doesn't have to be in tempo or of a consistent roll base; you know that thing were you just let it bounce a million times...then the next week, just drop the stick but only let it rebound two or three times. Then the next week just get two rebounds, then the following week you should be ready to play the roll as normal...
okay check this out. these kind of things take muscle memory. if you continue to practice just like any other rudiment it will gradually be easier to get faster on it's own. just take it slow for now and you WILL get it faster, it just takes work.
you r wicked good how long have u been playin
