  • can you upload a beat what is on intro please? it breaks my mind ...

  • Bon travail!!

  • really love your style!

  • Did you have to record it into sonar in a seperate midi tracks or audio tracks: 5:08?

  • @TheSinghFIRE

hi, record in midi tracks is useless since i use an MPC (Midi Production Center)

i only use each audio tracks to each outputs of my mpc.

  • original! setup! that's dope

  • Dope!

  • what bass did you used for this beat??

  • @CHRCAR5 it was a dimension pro software bass

  • Premo Set-up

  • tight

  • nice turn table

  • Ol boi been working that 60 and the S900 sampler for a min...thats champion MPCee right there and he's white! LMAO....

  • ill sound luv it:-}

  • hehehe did i hear samples from the zero-g datafile :D oooohjeeea ;)

    nice work !!

  • what is zero-g ?

  • @IDK973

its a very old-school-sample cd. but a cery cool one.

  • @IDK973 awhh u lame dennn

  • Awesome stuff m8!

  • ill setup yo!

so whats the advantage of sampling into the s950 as opposed to straight into the MP?

also, i need a multitrack, any suggestions?

  • many advantages : with the s950 you got the keygroups, the possibility to cut off all sounds with the mono function. the low pass extremely powerfull and the sound isn't the same.

    s950 is 12bit, mpc60 is 16bit who stock in 12.

but now i only use an mpc3000LE and a yamaha motif xs6.

one month ago i bought a tascam 2488 neo and i'm pretty satisfied with it. better sound than a pc sound card.

  • @IDK973 That Tascam 2488 neo is gr8 for its price. . . .had mine for a year now and I'm lovin' it. PEACE!

  • That backlight is BRIGHT. Is that a replacement?

  • Good one for sure*****

  • awsome song whats it called?

  • nasty! the only thing i wasn't feelin was the melody u laid with that organ or flute sound

  • Dope ass sample man 5 stars

  • what did u sample that off of

  • DOPE BEAT!

  • whats better to work with 3k or 60 just work flow not gritty ness ... thanks

  • to me, there's abs no differences between the workflow of the 60 and the 3000. but the 3000l got more sampling time pretty useful for melodies editin'. and filter of the 3000 is dope for ,the drums.

  • did you make the beat that start off at the beginning

  • @IDK973 If you had to choose between those 2 which one would you choose ? and why ?

  • WWIII .....? (TJofDaWestunes)

  • dude how much did all that shit cost you? especially the mpc 60 thats like vintage shit man. (wow i sound like a fratboy.)

  • they sell on ebay for like 500

  • That Is simply awsome

  • this beat is fire!!

  • respect, que la funk soit avec toi

  • I swear this sounds like the beat to "Chocolate Rain", LOL.

  • lol i jus noticed that!

  • @monogee lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @monogee LMAO yeah That Piano was hard to like at first lol What he added was incredible though

  • @monogee LMAO yeah That Piano was hard to like at first lol What he added was incredible though

  • beat was sick but that final melody was upsetting.

  • fye shyt

  • at first i doubted the drums but when they were compressed i was like yesss!

  • holy shit dat was vicious

  • as I know both 950 and 60 are 12 bits samplers. what's the difference of directly sampling on 60 and on 950 then sequence on 60?

how to hook them up? from midi out to midi in?

  • hi, the mpc60 is a 16bit machine who's stocking in 12bit, and the s950 is a "real" 12bit sampleur.

i use the mpc fot the beats cause the pad assignement is better for the workflow and i use s950 for samples of melodies with the greats mono keygroups .

i connect the midi out of my mpc to the midi in of the s950. PEACE

  • how did you made that you have your 4 pieces you only recorded once or 4 times?

  • nice dude!

  • Old ScHoOlL Man.... grat beat uhu....

    HIP HOP...

    IS NOT ON THE RADIO

  • the rip you're talking about is the foundation of hiphop.take a part of sound and create another music with it.for me it's a kind of tribute and far more honest than other type of music who pretend to "play instruments ans create" copying all the notes ans chords of another group, like in the rock'n roll.they are the fucking whore of music cause they just copy each others.

i also like to compose orchestal or ballad joint but i love the sample philosophy of the hiphop.

    Peace

  • yeah, I may have gone off the deep end a bit... I have mixed feelings about it. I like how you used the word tribute. It just drives me crazy when I see this kids spewing a tiny loop from another well known record, then put some bass beats over it then call themselves 'geniuses' afterwards. This shit is not rocket science. I just think the attitude and direction of hiphop needs to go beyond where it has been for the past 10 yrs...

  • i agree with you that the sampling is an art abused sometimes, but the good and the worst are in all the type of music.

if it's hot and well done you're skilled...if you take a 5min sample with a crunk beat, you are a fucking thief untalented.

  • If a famous producer uses a sample, the price of the record he/she uses doubles + the creator (band/singer) gets their royalties.

Sampling in hip hop has helped vinyl stay alive. Alot of major label bands/artists are now releasing thier albums on vinyl-not just on CD (Vinyl is still alive yay!!!!)

  • i guess the s950 has alot more RAM than the mpc60? I always liked the akai samplers, but rackmount seems a bit inconvenient when you need to push buttons

  • Dude your sick man, great beat.

  • old skool mpc hahahah

  • I love your style man!!!!

  • who's song did you sample? might i ask

  • can u record from ur record player straight into the mpc or do u need the s950?

  • both, they have both an input entry.

  • Wow. Great video

  • I must have watched this video at least 50-60 times. Good Sound bro! Best beat vid on Youtube! Long live the 60 and 60II

  • shits sick my dude

  • man, thatss soooo fuckin awesome.shit is bosssss

  • that sample is from sum fabulous or juelz song i forgot da name of it

  • maybe....cause that sample is from is one and only source : the original music wich can be sampled by several persons

  • it's been gorgeous and beatiful man. greethings

  • You got a love for hip-hop man. Hip hop is not on the radio. You know the business. 5 star beat

  • so you sampled in the s950 and then dumped it to the mpc60 and chopped it in the yer 60? not just triggering?

  • damn thats hot

    nice set up 2

  • that is real shit hip-hop like krs one and dj premier very nice man

    peace

  • Coo music.

Don't waste your time with that wack PB button.

Under edit sample, go to pg. 2 Change it from "monitor" to the name of your program. Then you can trigger from the pads while in edit sample mode, and chop while the sequence in playing.

I find it easier to put my sp below the s950 and have my s950 near at eye level for chopping.

  • So ill. I just picked up the 60. Looking forward!!

  • yo i just want to say that was amazing.

    really.

    i couldnt do that ever.

    youve got mad talent.

  • awesome...please post more videos...

  • i think i commented this before but i had to again... this shit is dope as fuck! fuck all these haters.. they don't remember late 90's east coast shit... all they know is crunk. so they're not too familiar with that style sequence of drums.. but i know! and i feel you! that's real hip hop right there. keep doing your thing.

  • word ! they think that crunk is hiphop.

for all those teen's i have to say : listen krs-one : hip is the knowledge, hop is the movement. and stop this murder of the hiphop culture named crunk..;hiphop is not on the clubs...

  • Which VST is that?

  • dimension pro

  • nah that beats tight as hell homie id spit on that shit lol

  • meh, not a very creative way of flipping the sample, and ya drums had no rythymic pattern to em' whatsoever kid..., shit wasn't mixed right either...I think you should revamp this ASAP...

  • and i think that ton opinion tu peux t'le foutre la ou sa te fera plaisir. :-)

    peace

  • lol, don't get offended, I wasn't trying to diss your dog smellin ass, It's just constrcutive criticism, I ain't realize how sensitive you was....lol...

  • "ya drums had no rythmic pattern to eM" ... your fucking mind has no drum pattern then.

i'm not a big fan of hip hop but this was pretty dope... and your percussion was nice.

  • very nice beat (je kiff ^^)

  • nice

  • nice beat man...if you have time, check out my stuff!

    Peace!

  • Not bad...this sample sounds familiar,An alchemist beat maybe???

  • retard.

  • the first one was the best then u fucked it up with the shit the first beat only but it came back at the endin tho..

  • looks like your using sonar home studio 6 how is it for you?

  • beat is NASTY!!!!!!!!!! but i could do without the high synths.

  • The high synth would have sucked had he nat put it in the background, but he did and it made the track that much better... Props to idk

  • good beat, and i like the fact that you use an mpc 60

  • good beat, and i like the fact that you use an mpc 60

  • the 8 outputs of the s950 are mono, so only one sample can be played on one output in the same time : you can play 8 samples at the same time using all the outputs.

when you rec a sample you've got to name it first a different name taht de "tone" sample .

this machine is not ridiculous my friend. she's amazing.

    IDK

  • so really you need a mixer to pair with it then.. 8 channel mixer.. in order to use it properly... ?

  • well...a mixer if you want, i use a sound card with 8 inputs.and the main mix output in a track of my mixer.

  • Im also having problems with the akai s950 sampler that I purchased.... I paid 300 bucks for this thing and cant get it to do much of anyting:( the samples i record are hardly audible.. i cannot hear them.. is there anyway to turn them up?

  • C'est courageux d'autant travailler le son et le résultat est convaincant! Le beat est vraiment bon, la partie de clavier j'accroche moins. Mais l'ensemble reste de qualité! Bonne continuation!

  • merci.

    peace

  • Dude, help aother dude out!- Which output om the back of the unit is the sample playing through when youre clicking P.B? When i hit PB on mine, i only get a faint play back- even if i record the sample through the roof.

Help me out man, up until now im having to preamp my s950 to shit, just to be able to hear the sample!

  • click on the "edit sample" button and choose your sample that you have named and recorded. then press enter, you'll hear the song in any output of the s950 cause the assignment of the output is in the edit program section.

  • Thanks dude. Any idea why volume is so low when using the P.B button?

  • man that sample is used man almost everbody has used that

  • so?.....ouvrir sa gueule juste pour la critique non constructive c super intelligent.

    peace

  • bruh that sample is cold as hell

  • dude i

want to learn how to do this shit is it hard

  • Hot shyt!!...Nice melody!

  • yo! i like how you sample stuff with weird time signatures other than the basic 4/4. i do that too because it give me more of a challenge. interesting shit homie.

  • thanks !

    peace

  • common would murder this

  • That ugly-ass hand clap ruins it.

  • Witch is the track name? tks

  • im still checking out that mpc 60 . it seems like its a little different than the 2000. xl

  • damn, that mpc is ill

  • nice one

keep it real keep it raw

  • GOOD TASTE IN EQUIP but whats up with the off key flute and the woman screaming?

  • It's a GOOD SHIT!!!!!!!! Oh ma men! Tha real shit! :D Peace from Huelva (Spain).

  • U know its Hip Hop when its Hip Hop....people should stop sayin "real hip hop" should stop sayin real hip hop cuz that shit on the radio is Hip POP....good shit homie

  • i could jay-z spittin over this. nice job dude.

  • ay man.. this is some real shit. brings me back to the time right before hip hop took a different route and headed south (metaphorically and literally) sounds like some late 90's east coast shit... big pun, nore, nas, canibus, etc. BEAUTIFULLY HIP HOP HOMIE.... 1000!!!

  • MPC60 & AKAI S950... Classic hardware. You're making good oldschool hip hop!!!

  • that record was FULL of gems.. my Goodness.

u was off with that flute sound tho.. that made the track ugly to me.. u was off key my man.

  • nice track..fire right there..!how did you get the seven outs ..right in 2 sonar6 do you have a pro tool digi001?..with 8 outs..

  • no, i'v got a terratec phase 88 with 8 I/O

  • nice work

  • shyt ma dude, ur music aint on the radio either, wack

  • Hip hop IS NOT on the radio! Its BS all over the airwaves now and everyone is brainwashed on what to listen to. Nice work man

  • nice sample. Big up!

  • nice how do you sync the mpc 60 and s950 after you chop the samples thru the s950

cause I was thinking of getting a s950 for my mpc 1000 casue the 1000 is 16 bit and I want that gritty 12bit sound

    Thanks in advance

  • Yo son dat shit was ill yo...word to motha yo.

  • Wow, you really know how to use the S-950. I've wondered how people really get it going like the way you got it. Did you somehow chop up the sample in the S950? I've been trying to figure that out for the longest time. I need to go fire up the beast.

I've been using my S-612 for my 12 bit samples, its almost analog sounding especially running it through the Akai AX-60 analog synth.

  • happy to see you use Sonar as well(Hot track)

  • Awesome shit sunn! Nice beat & damn nice gear!!! I'm bout to get me a S1000 next week! 9EACE

  • So why do you have the s950 AND the MPC-60 when they are basically the same thing? :D

  • it's not because they are both akai that it means they are the same....the s950 is a basic sampler 12bit with a huge sound dirty and a crazy low pass filter, the mpc60 is like his name say : MIDI Production Center : a sampler very clear, much more than the s950 and a kick ass sequencer many more creative than the fu...ing computer.

  • well the mpc60 has the same sampling engine, the s950 is just a sequencerless rack version of the MPC60 (as far as I know, though I don't have either. I want to get the s950 sometime, it looks awesome. :D )

  • absolutly wrong, they aren't similar.

it's what i though too but now i'v got both, i can say, and why.

the s950 is a 12bit sampler and you can choose beetween 3000 and 19200 hz of bandwidth.

the sampling engine of the mpc60 is a 12bit but you can't change the frequency of sampling. it's an high 40khz. that's why mpc60 as no sound colour like s950
