Anybody remember the first match with a real name wrestler? His match with Raven was only about three minutes long, WCW made a ton of good talent look like assholes to put Goldberg over.

More then a few great wrestler went through that crap. Matches that were pay-per-view caliber, suddenly became mid-card jokes on Monday night. That is why WCW went under as badly as it did.

When I watched this live I really thought Meng was going to win. He was on such a tear interrupting matches and beating down everyone. Meng's push slowly fizzled after this match. :(

This match was both great and so terrible. Great because they'd built up Meng for weeks being an "uncontrollable monster," making this match a real exciting one. Terrible because it was just so terribly staged. Meng goes outside, realizes he's not on the side where the nWo is, and rolls back the other way. Goldberg takes a kick from Meng and crazily falls outside the ring several feet away. Then Meng just gives up for no apparent reason.

havin 2 minute matches was good to put an emphasis on how powerful goldberg was at the beginning. facing people with jobber status. but when it comes to guys like meng, it shoulda deffinatly went on longer. same thing w/ the giant, that one should have been a big bout.

I remember this, I hated how Meng put Goldberg down for three seconds on his back and he ref never called it, That was a huge win for Meng and Sealed his Name as a legend, But Goldberg had to be superman and keep his fake streak going, Hall Just bout had Goldberg too, better than anyone else, Watch Hall Vs. Memories - I always hated to see good strong talent "job" to Goldberg. At least make it where it is a long fought match or somewhat real. I remember Jimmy hart had to pull Meng's hair to let go of the tonga death grip after making others submit. Here, he just let go for the heck of it, I hate to see that.

I agree. Having more than a 2min match would have been nice. Meng was one of few stars who seemed to be portrayed as being near Goldberg's level as far as 'toughness' (this is in ring persona, as we all know Meng was a lot tougher than Goldberg IRL), and it would have been nice to see them really go at it.

And letting go of the death grip was just -_- I remember watching this match, and it was like wtf dude, that's silly.
