lol dude those who direct to this video heard enough of the retarded beep!! 30second of your video is bringing enough knowledge !!! I miss my porn movies
same problem my external segate 320GB freeagent was connected to my laptop and the hard drive fell......all i get now is a beeping. Some say stuck or jammed head others say its gone.
my external is making the same noise. this small dog got caught on my power cord, and it fell off the 2ft coffee table. and now its making this. i've read freazing it can help temorarily.. otherwise, i dont know what to do beside take it apart.
Heads are stuck on the platters. If you want to live dangerously, bang it on the table with the edge opposite the connector down. You can also try opening up the drive and pushing the heads off of the platters. As long as you don't keep the top off very long, the drive should be fine for a while. If you do take the top off, replace the drive. It should last long enough to take a full back up, though.
I'm next to positive that's not actually "beeping" it's the motor trying to spin up and since it's unable too the attempted spin up is making the noise you hear. In short I believe the platters are stuck. I have a hard drive that does the same (Mine plays a tune!) and that's the exact problem, the platters are stuck. I've heard some people have had luck with lightly tapping the hard drive with a rubber mallet, to free the platters, can't say if that will work for you or not.
maybe it's dead. for me, it IS dead. I've called the tech support of Seagate, what they said is let me connect this hard disk as a slave and try their Seatools, I told them the hard disk can't spin and ask them CAN THE COMPUTER DETECT THIS DISK IN THIS SITUATION, they became dummy.
And the warranty is just RETURN TO FACTORY and send me another disk which can work.

从声音来看 应该是磁头降落的盘片上造成的 可以开盘旋出磁头 但是要求你有洁净的空间

"From the sound of view should be the head landed on the disc can be caused by open-circle out of the head, but require you to have a clean room"
