  • Wolverine:LET"S GO PUNK!

  • @michaelrey2002 it's "Let's go Bub" actually

  • man when the hell is this game gonna be on PSN?

  • arcade perfection on sega saturn

  • I love the selection music. If anyone has it, PM me.

  • the Saturn version of this game looks beast! No Load Screens, You can use 2 characters, and a better.

  • I won't speak for the game cause for something absolute its needless to say anything! I want to comment for the haters, how can 10 people dislike the ULTIMATE 2D fighting game of all time?!?!?!? Poor people...

  • comment faire la tache de X avec Wolverine

  • There is an online version of this game u guys should check it out at street fighter . com (no spaces in between )

  • DREAMS DON'T DIE

  • when i studied in japan when i was 16, this was THE shit!!!

i now have my own sega blast cabinet and i'l buy this for the CPS system =)

  • IMPOSSIBLE!

  • I found this game today in Roseville, MN while hunting for Genesis carts. So I came home with Madden '92 and X-Men vs Street Fighter. On a CRT HDTV with s-video cable, this game looks astounding. What a tragedy that it was never released in the US back in the day, but Saturn was as good as dead by 1997. Thanks for the video!

  • at 4:09 you could have combo'ed into mega optic blast from that throw.

  • wow. this version runs so much better than the horrible memories i had playing the us ps1 version...gah! why can't they get this up on psn or something so we can play the proper game?

  • @suiton629 yeah.. this version exclude that shitty loading screens.. +10 for the Saturn version

  • Oh yeah, I had this shit for Saturn...Import copy with the four-meg RAM cart?! Check. Arcade perfect? Absolutely!

  • This game is exactly like Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter!

  • Wait what's this, no loading when you go to the character select screen?!

  • sega saturn & dreamcast were the most underated consoles of all time, such powerehouses for the time was a fantastic technical achievement!!

  • LETS GO BUB!

  • Dhalsin and storn is best.

  • I like dhalsin. dhalsin is best for street fighet and storn is best Xmem.

  • Anybody eles but me found it funny that cyclops was quite a poser with his optic blast i guess he was just trying to get some style points while kickin ass lol

  • This is not a "100% Arcade Perfect Port"

Still got some minor slowdowns when large characters/lots of fx are on screen. So, it's like a "97%" translation... but well, it's almost unnoticeable most of the time.

  • @X3mekickz play kawaks on your tv, its 100% ;)

  • @X3mekickz So your defending the shoddy, shitty, no tag team mode half baked PSone version?

  • @X3mekickz I've never had any slowdown with this game. And I've played MANY hours.. Arcade perfect is really BIG to say but with this game I believe we can say it!!!!

  • I loved how chun li took an optic blast at point blank. lol.

  • TORNADO CLAW!

  • Hahaha, oh wow, that Weapon X hyper combo is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, not just in video games, but in anything audio/visual. I was never a fan of XM vs. SF, but MSH, MSH vs. SF & MvC 2 are all-time faves of mine. The first MvC was just off, to me, like XM vs. SF. Not bad games, just not up my alley. Anyways, cool video!

  • this is like marvel vs capcom

  • This is on the Sega Saturn? Makes the PS1 verison look like crap!

  • nice gameplay bro 5 stars

  • I stuck by all sega systems until sega died. When every1 was playstation crazy, i was loyal to saturn. The thing is, here in australia we got shit marketing and not exclusive games like this. I modded mine and imported all my games, at the time this game was my fav in arcades and wen i had it on saturn with 4mb cart i was like wtf nothing no system could do this at the time. Btw, the announcer voice in this game is my FAVOURITE ANNOUNCER VOICE EVER

  • @gosper SEGA isn't dead. They were forced out of the hardware market by thier new boss Isao Okawa in 2001. SEGA planned on keeping Dreamcast alive. Okawa ordered them to pull the plug with the rest of the company against it. BTW, SEGA has two rumored new machines in development: a digital on-live like device based off RINGEDGE hardware and a high end globe ray tracing 512-bit console called "NEPTUNE" who's arcade conversion will go by the name "SEGADRIVE".

  • @gosper Those who know go with SEGA.. ;)

  • thid was the best

  • Wolverine and Akuma thats all I need to kick everyones ass. That was my dream team.

  • @GoukiMessatsu

Cyclops and Wolverine were my team and get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom 3!!

  • @btcutt75 You wouldn't joke with me would you lol MVC 3!!!!! I can't wait!

  • @Goukimessatsu2 No joke, but I hope they include Spider-Man!!!

  • @btcutt75 I hope they include akuma. With him I can beat anyone.

  • It looks like even the animation in the Sega Saturn version was better. Did they remove frames from the PS1 version lol?

Oh and Cammy is f'ing spamming that Cannon Spike lol

  • @Runeless ya the sega saturn was by far the best for playing any 2D games, the ps1 had to have animation frames taken out, and you werent able to tag team. The PS1 didnt have the power to run it, while the saturn version is perfect.

  • They did, and the Saturn version came with a 4MB Ram cart so that the game would be arcade perfect. The PS1 version didn't even have tag-teaming unless it was that Crossover mode.

  • Yes they did. In Japan alot of the CPS2 fighting games (X-men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Alpha 3) came with a little 4 meg cart that goes where the memory card would go on the Sega Saturn. This helped for those games to run arcade perfect on a system that didnt have the power to do so on its own.

  • @Runeless yes. The PlayStation versions of X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, X-Men: Children of The Atom, and Marvel Super Heroes were all severely chopped. There are missing frames of animation, longer load times and most obviously no true tag-team feature without mirror-matching Player 2 in XvSF and MSHvSF. It's all thanks to that 4 MB RAM cartridge add-on that the Sega Saturn was fortunate enough to have!

  • 懐かしいな

  • I used to play this game alot in the arcades as a kid, really fun game, and the saturn version I own is one of the best games on the system

good thing the Saturn version is perfect, animations and tag mode and all, and the controller is great for fighting games.

  • Wow, The graphics are really impressive back then.

  • I used to play this game as a kid and omg its still is my favorite..im soo gonna order it for Xmas!

  • Dont cus Ill come over wit a 40 n beat ya ass wit cyclops and wolverine

  • this game scored 9 out of 10 on EDGE magazine. it's up there with VF, VF2 and VF Remix as the saturn's best rated by the magazine.

  • heck yeah!! this game is on it's way from japan now. it's gonna be awesome :D

  • This game on the saturn is as close to arcade perfect as you'll get. No slow down at all and the load times were next to nothing, which back in those days was unheard of. There was slow down and much longer load times on the ps1 version of the game as the ps1 didnt have a ramcart to help it out

  • Not only that, but you couldn't tag unless you did a certain code that lets you tag with strict conditions. The conditions were you must be in two player mode, both players must use the same characters, and it has to be in an AB vs. BA format.

  • That and the gameplay was crap. There was no tag-team action which is what MADE the game.

  • Holy cow. I can't believe I overlooked this one for so long!

Looks friggin' sweet. Gotta find a copy!

  • can someone answer me this question that i neing questioning my self for teh longest , is ryu n ken from teh alpha series n capcom vs marvel the youngest version of them selfs cause tehy dont look nothing alike the original street fighters , like ryu looks more older then the alpha n ken has short hair

  • Alpha takes place before the original streetfighters. The crossovers like this one and MvsC happened after alpha but before the original streetfighters which is why they still look young.

  • oh thx for the answer i always wonder why they look different

  • when i play this on the saturn the cammy sprite turns into a boxy glitch when i jump.

  • Check your ramcart slot its probably not reading the cartridge properly.

  • next time I'm in a fight I'm going to call out my moves out loud as I fight the guy

  • only slowdown was from playing Juggernaut on max speed with the 4AM RAM cart - playstation port doesn't even come close...

  • X men won. end of story.

  • i remember I bugged the hell out of parents to get me the imported game for the saturn think it costed around 100 dollars to get it, my parents were pissed lol. good times...

  • I like having the game on Sega Saturn

  • i used to have this game on ps1

  • nice animation!

  • This game was a absolute technical achievement. It proves what a powerhouse the Sega Saturn was when it came to 2D gaming to get 100% ports out of a animation heavy game like this and other great games like Real Bout Special and frantic shooters like DoDonPachi. The (Japanese) Sega Saturn is the most underrated game system of all time. It had something for everyone: Shooters. RPG's. Fighters. You name it the Saturn had it. Great conversion of X-Men vs Street Fighter.

  • 100%? i don't think so. Saturn version even with 4MB RAM cart, was plagued with slowdown.

  • Really? I don't remember it ever having slowdown and i just played the shit an hour ago LOL. You must be talking about the unplayable tragic comedy of the Playstation version

  • I don't even own the ps1 version. I can show you the my Saturn's collection. Just go to photobucket and look for account name praystation.

Also many other people experience the slowdown I mentioned. perhaps you dont even own a Sega Saturn?

  • Yeah i own a Saturn (since 97') and I have this and Vampire Savior and many other games. Maybe i just didnt' notice the slowdown....Marvel Super Heroes on the other hand....

  • He must be talking about another game. No slowdown in mine either.

  • @praystation Dude there is no slowdown. I am a SEGA hardcore fan, not a fanboy, I own a HUGE collection for SEGA Saturn played countless hours X-Men vs Street Fighter on a Japanese white Saturn with the Japanese version and I've NEVER witnessed any slowdown even when the screen was full with sprites and effects! Maybe you were playing the game on praystation... :PP

  • There is NO slowdown on the Saturn version. As a test I did what you claimed and played on turbo mode and picked Juggs and Sabretooth and there was STILL no slowdown. Your Saturn cart must have been buggered because there is absolutely NO slowdown in my Saturn version. I stilt TO this day play this on my Sega Saturn so my memories are still current.

  • @praystation That's odd because I own this game and it get's played alot. In fact one time my friends were playing it and I was watching, one person picked two juggernauts the other Cyclops and Juggernaut. Turbo was on the max setting and there was absolutely no slowdown whatsoever. Even when 3 Juggernauts were on screen.

  • @songoku350 It was the Dual Processor that made it possible. Sorry PLAY THING. You're not ready. (Look it up)

  • I remember when I first learned about this game in a magainze, I was in my teens, and I thought at the time that nothing, NOTHING could be more awesome than having Street Fighter and the X-Men in the same game fighting against eachother, dreams really did come true back then, they just don't make video games like this anymore :-(

  • Yes amazing game. So cool, I never liked street fighter at all, But because of this game they became part of my gaming world. Fantastic game. I never liked any other jap 2d beat em up. Only this, don't know why.

  • @FargoJ02 Don't worry, Marvel VS. Capcom 3 will be here soon enough.~

  • @gokujr93 next year though :(

  • @FargoJ02 yea they do its called marvel vs capcom 1.2.3

  • @FargoJ02 What about Kingdom Hearts? Different genre but still, same thing.

  • This game was about to be released for the US version of Saturn. Unfortunately it never made it since The Sega Saturn stop making games. What a shame.

  • I wish they would bring out an Xmen vs. Streetfighter 2 for 360 and the new gen systems..

Is their a chance Capcom will?

  • capcom does not own licensing rights to marvel. if it did, it would definetly re-release marvel capcom 2 as well as other games in a trilogy.

  • is their a chance they get together to make another game ?

Or that the streetfighter alpha series will come out on 360?

  • there sure is a chance but as of now this is a copyright issue and only EA can use it till the contract expires and a new bid contract comes up by marvel

  • EA lost the Marvel liscense months ago... And I'm not sure if you've heard by now, but MvC2 was rated for the 360 and PS3, which implies that it'll be downloadable on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

  • this is great news BUT...how about mvc3 production? capcom ought to create marvel vs dc vs capcom with over 100 characters and new game modes

  • that really is great news; you just made my day..

  • fuck i should never have sold my saturn :(

  • 1:28 Yatta!

  • :\ whenever i played this game, there was noticeable slowdown when characters jumped and sometimes when large characters were on the screen. i have an action replay that works with vampire savior, and i don't get it :\ any tips?

  • I noticed smalls slowdowns when using TURBO. It happened to me on this game, on Marvel vs Capcom and SFZero3. But only when using certain Turbo Speeds. On normal Speed. these games working flawless.

PD: I use the original 4MB cart for these games. I don't know about Action Replay.

  • Yeah, this don't have timeloads!!

  • perfect arcade conversion

  • This is ALL that me and my brother used to play back in those PS1/Saturn days. Because of this game my brother bought a second moded Japanese Saturn to play all region games, then he bought a Japanese White Saturn too so right now we have 3 Sega Saturn's and a whole lot of European, USA and Japanese games.

  • Arcade Perfect conversion on saturn. PS1 version was really ugly...

  • yep. this game is AWESOME

  • the Saturn version was far superior to it's PS1 counterpart. That's not even taking into account the fact that Saturn's was the only port that allowed switching between fighters without needing the equivalent against you.

  • That's for sure! I feel that Capcom should have kept this game as a Saturn exclusive considering how the Playstation version was detestable in every way. Hands down, this is one of the many games that make me proud to be a Saturn owner!

  • it's a shame it requires additional memory..

  • Not really, since it came with it for free.
