  • delroy wilson u cool operator

  • Can't say enough. Whenever I hear a song in my head, it's probably Joe. THere's so much to take away from him. Music, words, attitude. Joe IS the man.

  • The MAN. saw them in 78-79 and twice in 1980.

  • JOE STRUMMER...FROM HERE TO ETERNITY!!!

  • saw the Clash in California, 79or 80 Give em enough rope tour, and in the middle of the first song , Joe Strummer jumps off stage with guitar , goes 5 rows into

the crowd and breaks up a fight. gets back on stage and the Clash play a killer set, and all is peaceful. Joe was the real deal. God bless him,and his family. thanks for posting

  • RIP STRUMMER

  • oh you lucky fuckers who were at that concert. joe strummer legend

  • What bass is the bassist playing?

  • I put on the fucking playlist so I can listen while doing some work meantime but I can never stop watching Joe ... such a tragedy. No other singer can use his voice to convey emotion, to send chills down your spine, to make works of art, like Joe Strummer.

  • joe RIP strummer.

  • I know now what NO FUTURE means... Joe Strummer is missing in our lives ! Joe is an icon, a true legend on his own ! Keep rockin'

  • Onstage they ain't got no...ROOTS ROCKS REBEL!!!

  • this is great because hes not trying to emulate the clash- this is closer to an authentic reggae feel- just as powerful and in no way does it seem disingenious- nothing worse than seeing old punk groups trying to act like their 20(see the sex pistols) Joe strummer's later music was not only pretty good but it had no sense of nostalgia or trying "too hard "- RIP Joe you were one of a kind!

  • @salvadory I agree the new sound is as valid as the old - but I disagree about old timers and love to see the greats play their old stuff. I love a good dance-up the wrong side of 50 - it's a laugh - so I can see why they do it. And there's always a bit of irony too: last week I made my fingers bleed shredding 'til late with my mate's teenage sons, but I still put the bins out for the morning. The clincher: say it was Joe palying the old stuff, with Paul, Topper, and Mick, would you say no?

  • the "7" people disliking this are... not people

  • jajajaja totalmente de acuerdo! you are right!

  • I'm not gonna lie but...how shit does the crowd wanna be? Seriously :P

  • BEEN TO LONG WITHOUT YOU JOE RIP THE SPOKESMAN FOR A GENERATION

  • Thanks Joe for all of your music and introducing me to reggae through this and other clash classics. Wish you were still here.

  • best clash song

  • this man was a template for me since 1977...thank christ I saw The Clash in 79, 80 and 81...saw Joe and The Mescaleros on most of the UK tours they did.....can't really accept that he is gone...

  • God he looks the same and sounds the same as when he was in The Clash. Such a Badass dude.

  • *sigh*

  • R.I.P. JOE!!! Wish I could see him the one last time with Mick,Paul and Topper...well,maybe one day...up in heaven :) miss you Joe!

  • if adolf hitler, were here today, theyd send a limousene anyway

  • I wish I could have seen The Clash in their heyday. I would have dance my ass off!

  • Joe tu sei the most of the most!

  • The world is still empty.... Joe, there is no one to fill the gap...

  • Joe Strummer belongs to a tiny group of truly unique musicians which probably only includes Morrissey and Page & Plant other than himself. What a legend - and I miss him all the time.

  • For the right amount of Money you can actually buy an exact replica of

Joe Strummer's signature black telecaster from Fender, worn and battered just like the original. They even made sure that the words "Revolution Rock" are just

where they should be. All mass produced of course. I believe they sell for

over a thousand dollars. Is there any limit to how crass and greedy corporations

are and were. Capitalism is the end of humanity!

  • @robertkinghalifax they wouldnt have got away with it if strummer was still alive :(

please anybody considering buying one of these "replica" buy a new guitar and make it your own.....

innovate not imitate.....you might think your buying it in tribute to joe.....but your only lining another execs pockets

    LONG LIVE THE CLASH

    R.I.P Joe

  • fucking idiots in the crowd they have no idea wat Joe or The Clash was about

  • I never feel down or alone when Joe is jammin'!

    RIP.

  • never saw him ,but nearly brings a tear to my eyes thought i was tough

  • I had the pleasure of seeing him twice - albeit late in his career. Once at Glasto in 99. Immense, as generous as ever. & once walking down Portobello rd 4 the first time ever, thinking about The Clash, and there's Joe and 1 of his kids (I guess) outside a tattoo parlour - Joe joking about the designs (I was close enough to hear, & desperate to say something like: you're my no1 hero. But I said nothing, not wanting to intrude. I wish I had, because I've heard that Joe was incredible with fans).

  • still means the same all these years later

    rip

  • none of us knew what we had had till it was gone..god bless Joe..laters.

  • ...this was Joe's favourite song that he wrote...RIP Joe Strummer

  • Your favorite.

  • Its beautiful yet strange to see this guy totally at ease w/ himself. Not sure which whether he was more interesting when he was younger or when he was older, but I'm glad he found some peace before her went. God bless Joe Strummer. We need more like him around today.

  • Listen to this DO NOT vote Tory. JOE was for the working man No EATON SCUM

  • Joe Strummer (John Mellor) went to a really exclusive public school (City of London Freemen's School in Surrey) and enjoyed a childhood of exclusive privalige. Very posh was Joe. The rest was all an act - as he later admitted - he even told me (in 1983) he was a closet Thatcher fan! This doesn't detract from his brilliant music and the fact that he was a really nice, decnet down to earth bloke.

  • And Johnny Cash was my grandfather

  • Bollocks you chancer

  • that's could sarcasm ;)

  • Crystal Palace

    HammerSmithOden

  • skat ska skat!

  • "...new groups are not concerned with what there is to be learned, they've got burton suits, and they think it's funny, turning rebellion into money,

all over people changing their votes, along with their overcoats,if adolph hitler flew in today, they'd send a limousine anyway........

  • the lot of you are cunts!!!

  • I agree with OidarylOI

just shut up and enjoy Strummer

  • If Adolf Hitler flew in today, the Republicans would send a limo anyway.

  • Hey what the hell is that supposed to mean? I'm not even a Republican but that is just offensive.

  • It's supposed to mean that the whole Republican party is a neo-nazi crew. Democrats ain't any better though. Spineless liberals.

  • You must be really confused, Republicans aren't anything like neo-nazis. You are just buying into a stereotype of Republicans as rich, class oriented and religious. It is a very inaccurate stereotype. I have to agree with you, to a certain degree, about the Democrats.

  • I was actually being half-way sarcastic. Republicans are dangerous, bro. They don't give a fuck about the environment cause they think Jesus will come back any moment. All Republicans have so-called "religious backing" to all of their viewpoints.

  • I don't think any Christain really believes that Jesus will come back in their lifetime, so yeah that do give a fuck about the enviroment, they are just more reasonable about. This whole "green" craze is gonna die down to a cetain extent as people start to be more logical about the enviroment. And another thing, many Republicans aren't Christians or even religious at all.

  • First of all, you didn't understand my figure of speech in the beginning. They might not be nazis, but they sure are at the extreme end of the right-wing. Second, the Republican party is CONSERVATIVE. And what are they conserving? Religious principles that this nation was founded on. Don't try telling me that they ain't religious.

  • Thats just what I am saying; not all Republicans are religious! Indeed many are, but dont try to put them all under one stereotype.

  • Religious or not, they're still right-wing extremists. Period.
