It IS legal, if it's being done without turning a profit. How fast do you expect it to be done if it's running on donations? The SWGEmu team plans to finish it around Christmas. They clearly do know what THEY'RE doing, and you don't have to play it if you want to pay for the shitty post CU/NGE game.

Other enhancments are soon to be released next month also, including better search engines, profession enhancements and a heroic encounter. I've also heard rumors that new housing and structure blueprints are being designed. Just search the forums.
Galaxies isn't dead. If anything it's grown in content moreso in the last few months than it ever could have during the pre NGE years which were only like 2. Go back and try it again, I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised =)

I heard the path to become an Jedi/sith is even harder now.
You randomly find an holocron in an random location in an random animal or person.
And every time one finds one, everyone gets the info, So a new one will disapere in an new planet.
I think i heard you needed six... but that is pretty many. BUT, Being an Jedi would be so much better, and very very rare, than on swg now!

It is free to play, but you must buy the SWG discs, that was a term geven to SWGEmu by SOE.

swgemu is free and has the pre-cu playing system. SWG has the NGE playing system and is managed by Lucasarts. Some preffer swg and others swgemu.
