They make it look so epic, I bet when it really happened they just fired a few "Cannister" shots from the cannon and the crow dispersed. In the style of combat, lining up and firing volleys - I bet a lot of people ended up getting shot in the balls =S
HE KNEW THAT he supported revolutionary values he simply wished to restore oder out of chaos all societies have some sort of hierarchy even socialist or communist societies the idea of advancing merit over heredity seems so conventional now BUT back then it was a revolutionary value aristocracy simply meant you inherited your position all societies have elites even jefferson agreed with that I AGREE WITH THAT the average person is a moron i'm not particularly bright the secret is finding
the very first nation to permit female suffrage, napoleons parents were the children of that revolution.he implemented the napoleonic code which made all people equal before the law, he liberated jews from ghettos they'd been imprisoned in for 1000 years, he NEVER would have been given a chance to rule
@3L24 , today rioters are better armed than those in the film. But some canister like ammunition for close quaters is not a bad idea in cases like this one.
This series looks interesting. It seems very realistic in the depiction of weapons of the time.
Of particular note is the cannons loaded with cannister shot firring at point blank into the crowd (03.20). This is one of the few films where this has been shown so vividly. I'm not a blood thirsty person, but I do feel if something historical is to be depicted then it should be done correctly. Not just a flash, a bang and guys falling over like they've been hit by a gust of wind, lol!
Napoleon would not have sounded like that. Obviously he would have been speaking french, but he would also have had a thick corsican (italian) accent.
Indeed, Napoleon believed in what the French usually call "republican meritocracy". The greatest share of wealth, honor and power is handed down to those who display the greatest ability. Family wealth and ancestors should not even be taken into account. By the way, this meritocracy was one of the cause of French supremacy in Europe.
Aristocratic beliefs, yes, but not of the old aristocracy. His ideas were based off of merit rather than wealth or birth. You see, there is nothing naturally wrong about aristocracy, but rather the problem was that the aristocrats of old were either inept or completely selfish.

a just and fair way to advance the best and the brightest
many of whom like napoleon are born to modest station
or even the gutter
the secret is to advance an elite that will value civilization and justice
and advance the welfare of all people and liberty
the equality comes from the opportunity to advance and that is a true equality
before the law napoleon spread across europe
with his napoleonic code
VIVE LE EMPEROR!
VIVE LA france! VIVE LA REVOLUTION!
