While season one was rather more "adult" in its storytelling, I prefer to watch season two because 1) Catherine Schell's Maya, 2) the characters seemed to interact with each other more as friends and comrades rather than as mere colleagues (doubtless because s1 British reserve was dumped for American red-blooded open emotions) and 3) I liked the musical change from overly-familiar Barry Gray to heart-pumping Derek Wadsworth
I have a few episodes of Season Two that I really like (such as "the Mark of the Archanons" and "The Taybor", but season One was quite a bit better, though without Catherine Schell (although she DID guest star in 'the Guardian of Piri"
POLL; Who thinks what season was better, 1 or 2. I say season 2 because of the addition of Catherine Schell as MYA!!!!!She was in my opinion the star of the show!!!!
Ok I like Season 1 better (don't get me wrong I like season 2 as well). Stories were better in season one (season 2 had some good ones, immunity syndrome, bringers of wonders, the exiles, one moment of humanity) Minor things I did not like about season 2 theme song/music score, sets (no main mssion) and uniforms (didn't like those jackets). No exlpanation of victor, paul, kano. Liked Maya, tony, frazier, yasko. Wish there would have been a season 3
When I was 10, I liked season 2. As an adult, I find most of season 2 unwatchable, wherein I doubly appreciate the mastery of season 1. It was a mistake to flat out discard the characters of Kano, Bergman, and Morrow without explanation. Further, the series became more a badly acted soap opera in space a/o/t a well storied science fiction series with interesting character development. It's really too bad. Season 1 was a great piece of epic sci-fi.
@Nyhteritis i think after a year the inhabityants of alpha would start acting as normal people coming to the reality that alpha was thy're home thus the change in style from season 1 to 2 is easy to understand maya's chrachter helped in this regard to giving the show more of a human face and interaction i liked both series really on thy're own merits and freddy frieberger rescued this show actually between seasons as it was indeed cancelled after season 1
@azzorroww Spellcheck! No the show was not cancelled after Series 1! The reason for the year hiatus was contract disputes, personal problems between the Andersons, and a pilot Gerry filmed. Fred was brought in after Sylvia left the show (and Gerry). Don't go by the interviews of the time, that was to sell the show. The actors during Series 2 often wanted to leave set because of the bad writing. HINT HINT
@proximajoe okay, and as you say the show had many problems not just beyond the production itself but the people who created starred or wrote the various episodes considering all these factors its gratifying to see the series having a cult following today sorry for the spelling my hands were not steady that day as indeed was not my concentration thank you for responding
not really, NASA plans to launch a manned expedition to the moon in 2018. This does not by no means, and NASA recent record means they will make that date. If they do, it does not mean the colonization of the moon is at hand. Its very difficult to convince the majority of the public that such colonization is necessary and beneficial.
that is true the point im making is that the return to the moon will be the second step in learning the skills needed to work safely on the moon the first is the ISS learing how to live for long periods and how humans respond to living in conditions on the space station this will prepare us for future trips to
the moon and from the lessons learned we will then move on to our next goal hopefully in 30 years or so on to mars and what a great human experience that will be for all mankind
Planet colonisation will not be for the majority of us. It will be intended for the mega rich socialites and politicians who will want to escape imminent global catastrophe such as a nuclear holocaust.
It's a software package I no longer use (for 3 years) called PureMotion Editstudio 3. I switched to Premiere Pro 1.5 (now using 2.0), when Adobe bought PureMotion to create Premiere Pro. However, it seems another company bought the Editstudio name and has come out with version 5. Google PureMotion. Another package I used for sound editing I still use, even though I have Audition is CoolEdit. Yea I know, CoolEdit became Audition but I find it more intuitive.
Neat! I wonder how many more you could do? You might get a kick out of our remake of episode 1 season 1's intro. I'll post it to you as a video response...
What's the point of this? It is Breakaway and Immunity Syndrome spliced together and another ridiculous attempt to combine year one and year two by mixing year one intro music/montages with year two images. Why not use your talents to create a unique year one or year two episode?
great stuff! i used to watch and love these show together with "the six million dollar man", "the bionic woman", etc. here in the philippines. this is nostalgic for me! where do you get these stuff?
Awesome dude. Nice combo of season 1 and 2. And nice choice of clips from my fav season 2 epi. Tony V was my first teenage Brit crush :-) Boy season 1 theme was so much better than season 2.
Yes I agree, I wished season 2 would have done that as well in the opening credits. Good job on the mix, thats how I would think it would have looked liked.

Actually all series 2 offered was Catherine Schell. If it wasn't for her, the stories would have buried Space:1999.
Series 1!

I surely prefer season 1.
That was a really interesting sci-fi, based in a very good idea, with mystery and suspense.
I never liked season 2 as I don't understand what a "magic" metamorph and some boring "love stories" with silly dialogs has to do with sci-fi.
I agree with kpowers that music/sets/uniforms were better in season 1.

A) The actors are too old
B) Granada doesn't allow production of fan films like Paramount or Lucas.
C) Thank you for saying I'm talented
