@mboomer93 Your wrong, Affirmative action is making sure that blacks/minorities/women get into places of employment, schools, etc at a nice rate. If not it would be racist. Example with Jennifer Gratz complaining she ain't get into schools because of Affirmative action. talking about blacks that were "unqualified" got in. But failed to mention that to the 85 "unqualified" blacks who got in 1400 whites who were unqualified got in as well. So its ok for whites but not blacks?

I'm a black woman, but for the first time I agree with Bill O Reilly. Poverty exists across all races. One of the key issues with racism is that it can cause poverty for those being targeted. So, if blacks are more likely to be poor because of racism in America, then giving handouts to poor people WILL also help blacks if they have been made poor by racist America.

But the truth of the matter is that America still seeing a large amount of bigotry, whether it's socially, ethnically, or economically. Affirmative action is the peaceful attempt to undermine intrenched racism so that we do not have to go through the Civil Rights era violence again. It is meant to force racists, who had a stranglehold on wealth & resources, into sharing it all. This is done by preventing them from excluding minorities from jobs or social clubs, events etc. Social status is an important part of acquiring enough wealth to live. No, because though a black person may be qualified, there ALSO may be another white student/applicant that is more qualified. The white guy could potentially not get admission, because there are "less blacks", thus establishing a quota based strictly on race. That's destructive and contradictive of the elementary basis of affirmative action, so Bill is right.
