  • Have you seen the videos where the masks have glowing eyes? How would you do that? Thanks, you rule.

  • @BrettWeir007 12V 20 ma LED's wired to a 9V battery inside of ping pong or roll on deodorant balls. Then the vision holes would need to be in the dark inner corners of the eyes. also paint the back of the plastic ball black to eliminate being blinded by the light inside the mask. That is how I would do it, the light gets diffused through the thin plastic.

  • @StiltbeastStudios Sounds complicated. You rock man, thanks. I posted a link to this on Hauntforum yesterday.

  • @xtremeaaron Complicated lol. My income comes from 1. A haunt that I am the resident artist for. 2. A monster museum at a renniasance festival 3. trail of terror a haunt trail I own 4.masks and costumes for haunts 5. Speaking and teaching at haunt shows 6. Haunt consultation 7. Utube revenue through ads. in order of percentage. the last being a miniscule amount (hoping to improve it eventually). I have to do alot of different things because there isint huge money in any of them

  • I think Krampus should come to the states, I think he would be more effective at keeping kids good than Santa.

Hope you found a naughty child to devour. :P

  • Looks great, nice job! How well did all that latex actually stick to that mask when you were doing the build-up?

  • @scarygoat88 it sticks great, but because I latexed all of it as long as it sticks to ittself, its good.

  • Awesome

  • What is contact adhesive for? just gluing stuff together? cause i need a STRONG varnish for my project. i cant get paint to (stay) on a toy im making, like i use varnish, i primer i do EVERYTHING and it just flakes off. i need a REALLY strong varnish

  • @Toyman1982 It is a rubbery type of adhesive. Look into Bar-kote it is a two part finish that hardens nicely- thy use it for bar tops. Should work for you since it will bone to itself and form a "jacket" around your piece.

  • @StiltbeastStudios well thats awesome to know, but im working in hard plastic so im not sure how much good that would do for this project im working on, but i will TOTALLY use it for something else im working on soon! but my main problem is trying to get paint to fully bond to hard plastic sadly.. by the way, would you know anything about thinning out smooth-cast or other resins? ive heard about something called (Reducer) but im not 100% even sure if thats it

  • @Toyman1982 I dont know what kind of molds you are using but I have had great success by spraying auto body primer into the mold- then painting the resin/plastic piece as soon as it comes out with the same primer to cover the thin spots. Most resins can be thinned with acetone- I have done that successfully in the past-no more than 1 part acetone to 9 parts resin. Of course do a test batch to see how well it works for you. good luck.

  • @StiltbeastStudios Silicone molds mostly, but im thinking of switching to CompisiMold (i think its an Algenate? im not sure) but ill try that about the Acetone! ive tried Autobody primer and i didnt have much luck with it, but mostly cause im a total idiot as to spray painting stuff... is there ANY way to drybrush primer? cause i tell ya i SUCK at spray painting!

  • Sir you are a master of your craft. Truly awesome!

  • @DMan44487 wow thanks.
