  • DAAAAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:55

    Keep away

    Danger of exploding :D

No seriously: The is absolutely awesome i can't express.

    Simply wow.

  • Jaja eso nama lo ase un cubiche

  • the reason i watch football

  • o...m....g...

  • potang ina ,ang galing

  • you know those animal shows that always show a bird poppin its head up whenever something happens yeah that should've been inserted at 1:35

  • I mean dancing

  • Hi dancing if your there

  • JESUS CHRIST!

  • Like if you think he is really good.

  • Thats fucking good

  • anyone see the steam coming out of his bell at 1:42?

  • @WierdKid22 it's condensation that comes out when it's really cold out....water comes out of the bell if there's too much "smoke" but anyways on a cold day just blow tons of air into your horn and if you look carefully there's gonna be "smoke" coming out of it....just goes to show how much air he's using

  • i get goose bumps on the highest note

  • his tone quality is amazing

  • dude it is almost unreal how high he plays his trumpet

  • I had chills going down my spine almost the WHOLE time.

  • his sound is so fat and thick!

    i like it!

  • got chills at 1:33 damnnnnnnnn...

  • Im sorry to inform all you skinny little trumpet players that think they will be able to hit those high notes in the future. You see, Mr. Sandoval is a large man. It takes more air to get those notes than it does embachar strength. He has a large diaphram which allows him to push alot of air out of the horn. Compare your diaphram to Mr. Sandovals. You really think you can get that much air out of your horn? I have estimated a ratio that expresses air to embachar, 60:40.

  • @Super3794 Look up Lynn Nicholson. He's a skinny trumpet player blasting out F's above Double High C. Besides, you don't need "embouchure" strength to play high. Nor do you need a lot of air. Just super fast air and relaxed chops :/

  • @tyler2484 First of all, yes, you do need a lot of air to play high notes longer than a few seconds. Think of when you first started playing trumpet, i bet you couldent even get a sound out of it. At that point you had virtually no embouchure strength. So that proves that you do in fact need embouchure strength to play at all, much less hit high notes. Lynn Nicholson plays good high notes, but I bet u and I both could smoke him on a low lyrical piece.

  • @Super3794 Yes, to play a note for an extended period of time or to play a phrase, you need a lot of air in you. What I ment, by what you posted, is that all you technically need for a "high note", is just really fast air. But I'm just talking about a few notes. You need embouchure strength to move around with technique on the trumpet as you need resistance to blow back against you air to do, say, octave jumps or carnival of venus or napoli.

  • @Super3794 And by a relaxed embouchure, I mean the part of your chops that are inside your mouthpiece, better vibrates when it is relaxed rather than tense so high notes are louder and easier since the vibration of your chops make the sound. What easier? Vibrating to rubber bands or two pieces of wood? I think we just misunderstood. keep the corners tight. But I agree, for a low lyrical piece, we'd have the advantage. But he did play nearly every gig in Vegas, just for his lead playing.

  • @tyler2484 Of course, that's my approach to high note playing after a trumpet lesson and studying how Maynard played back in the 50's-60's. There are loads of people that blast out lyrical high notes and they play completely different. But to say that "skinny trumpet players" can't play high, is misunderstanding. I just mentioned him because since we were on that subject, I mentioned him since he was a skinny trumpet players playing lead for Maynard.

  • @tyler2484 I wish we could meet each other we could talk forever, lol.

  • The stupid look on people's faces like "alright the national anthem whatever hurry up man I wanna watch some football!"

Then all of a sudden everybody is yelling and cheering when he shit on all of they're faces -:D

Hopefully I can get at least somewhere as close as him in my lifetime..

  • bring him back

  • @ionoMyName its only double c. When he does the scale up an octave he hits c above the staff, then towards the end, he goes g g c, (the g is on top of the staff, and the c is first c above staff) d e f double g, and double c for the big finale.

  • Best presentation of colors at any sporting event. Better than all those stupid pop stars that try to ruin the anthem with their crap.

  • Yeah im Arturo Sandoval . What ? No I didnt play that high ..... Ohhhhh, just like 9 octaves above the galaxy .

  • all i can say is.....HOLLY SHIT!

  • @youngbeast7 when he hit i think that triple high C i was screaming that at my computer

  • Who thinks they can do this?

  • There is no other sound like Arturo...

  • i bet the 25 people who dislike play the flute and cant play that high

  • nice double c im 19 and im hitting it

  • @jjohnsontrumpet thats triple C -.-

  • @jjohnsontrumpet 14 and i can play it but it dosnt sound clean D: just wondering how long were you playing the trumpet?

  • Dude is just to damn raw

  • my hand slipped into my pants

  • im in the high school marching band and i am a percussionist but i still love a good trumpet solo like that EPICNESS

  • 25 poeplethat did not like it i bet it was a saxophone

  • i didnt even know the trumpet went that high!!!

  • @LegacySanJuan17 Theoretically any brass instrument can have an infinite range.

  • Goosebumps.... Best part us 1:56.... Th guy I take trumpet lessons from is the best I personally know, and he can't even play that high.

  • I watched this video and im trumpet player too , but this guy is make me open my mouth :D amazing !!!

  • holy fuck

  • nice lightsaber bro, o wait

    thats ur like bar

Nice too see that your on the jedi side

  • All 57,821 people have no idea what just hit them.

  • Most of those chumps don't even know what just happened to them.

  • A) I thought his trumpet was going to explode

    B) He is going to die young from a brain anuerism from blowing on that thing so hard!

  • the worst part is at 2:12.

  • I can play that till I heard 1:34 and then I was like fuck that shit

  • I'm pretty sure he plays a 3C Mouthpiece, or on something very similar to it. Insanity. I have to play a 6A4A Schilke to get anywhere that range!

  • @NoahChubb

It depends on the player's lips too, not every mouthpiece is the same for everyone

  • @LEFTY91335 , true, but generally it's the depth that matter for range. For lips, it's GENERALLY the width of their mouthpiece that decides the size. It is in my experience, at least. Many professional players use smaller mouthpieces for lead. Any person wanting to imitate this with a 3C would be committing trumpet suicide to try range like that on a Bach 3C.

  • @NoahChubb

yeah true, I play with the bach 3c, good tone but not the best range

  • @NoahChubb it has a lot to do with the player and the embouchure. My best range is on a Bach 3C (nowhere near this, if you were wondering), and I can hardly play at all on most lead mouthpieces.

  • It's ironic how the U.S. doesn't want any relations with a communist Cuba and yet they have the great Arturo Sandoval play their anthem, the Us should be honored to have him perform because I know I am

  • that person at 0:55 bothered me soooo much it almost made me mad

  • I liked the part from 0:01-2:12

  • Corners and lungs of Steel!

I can see why he holds a cross.

  • MA COME KAZZO FA ????

  • ive played this about 20 time's im still not over it.... :

  • holy crap... i was gunna say .. "On tuba? i think so..".. then it changed to "holy crap.."

  • All the trumpet players just shat their pants 0_o

  • i bet 90% of those people don't know how hard that is

  • @orangespriteman i bet 90% of those people don't know how hard i am from this lol

  • @orangespriteman ...I guess ....99% !!!!!

  • @orangespriteman it's unheard of in my mind

  • @orangespriteman jazz players, we are the 10%

  • @orangespriteman I bet no one knows that he's the only guy on earth capable of that shit.. Damn..

  • @orangespriteman I`ve tried to take some trumpet lessons and found it super hard! I`d prefer just to stay a vocalist. That`s much easier :D

  • @orangespriteman Not that hard until you reach the high notes, considering I've only been playing the trumpet for 4 months and am practicing it. It is pretty hard, but I think I can do it.

  • @zues8383 ive been playing for 2 its hard.trust me

  • @orangespriteman Have you seen the notes to this? He went higher for showoff, I've seen the notes, and yes the high notes are hard.

  • @orangespriteman But well, he went a little higher for Showoff I guess.

  • @orangespriteman OH i know how hard it is. I play trumpet and it will hurt your jaws your brain and your mouth

  • @sleightofhands1 Playing that high only hurts your jaws and mouth if you're playing incorrectly. range comes from the diaphragm, not the face.

  • This is the most amazing national anthem I've ever heard.

  • 1:33

    Let there be EPICNESS!

  • Comment removed

  • he could probably drag a car just with his chaps.

  • VIVA CUBA COJONE!!!!

  • Arturo Sandoval: "Psshh... That was my warm up"

  • People should like this comment because the person with the most comments is my best friend @STisbi... and Arturo Sandoval, oh i'll pay you to play a tuning note on my trumpet...nothing fancy, just a single note...and my life will be made!!

  • 25 people are idiots.

  • O_O

  • AS: "i totally just played the national anthem a couple octaves higher than the moon... get at me"

  • well done? that's all that guy can say?

  • Not Arturo's best stuff. The 1st 3/4 of the song is a Mickey Mouse arrangement, any high school trumpet player who watches this could play right along with it. Yes, he can wail at the end, but he looks all used up. Maynard could have played this with the trumpet hanging from strings and someone else pushing the valves.

  • @makenned Hahaha, you couldn't play it so why you criticizing?

  • @makenned Are you kidding me? Fuck you, dude. What authority do you have criticizing a trumpet god, on a YOUTUBE video? And stop complaining about the arrangement, it would be disrespectful to add trills and glissandos and fancy crap to our national anthem, he doesn't need that anyway because his tone is incredible.

  • @kylestyyle987 Your opinion loses a lot when you drop an f-bomb for no good reason in the 1st sentence. Neither of the points you make are valid. Taking the final phrase up an octave just to show the world that you can is "fancy crap" to begin with, so by your definition, this performance is disrespectful. As far as "incredible" tone, the first note of the song is a G, this is the 1st note you learn to play as a beginner. Arturo cracks this note as if his embouchure isn't set.

  • He is an excellent high-note trumpet player, one of the best. This is not his best performance. That was my opening statement and it is true. I have played trumpet for 24 years (although I am well past my prime), that does not make me an "authority" on it. I certainly have the authority to express my opinion, though. This will be my last post on the subject, but I am sure you will go on a rant and use some more colorful language. Got Bless.

  • Hes my idol.. When I grow up, I wanna play jux like him!

  • @nickleetrumpeter23 as fat?

  • All day son, all day

  • is it me or does he look epic when he starts playing

  • @TheDarkBlader000 He really looks epic after that rip

  • The trumpet players in the stadium were the first ones to be mind blown.

  • ORGASM!

  • I do the same thing at the end just down an octave

  • That kids face at 1:32 is priceless whenever he does that rip to the upper octave

  • Highest I can reach is the 2nd G above the staff. Now I just have to reach up the the 2nd C and I could play it like him

  • Dude... at first... i thought this was kinda boring... but once it started to pick up at 1:32... i was HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! :DDD I'm glad I'm in band!

  • they should erect statues of this man around the country he is just that GOOD !!!

  • From Cuba with Love. The only one "ARTURO SANDOVAL"

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT I WANNA PLAY LIKE THIS GUY!

  • @NDbuy1412 WHATTFBBQ!???!

  • HOLY FUUUUUHHH

  • Ummmm.... only one note.... i mean octave away from that note. :( :'(

  • 24 people cant scream on tumpet

  • I think even my eyes have goosebumps....

  • This man, is the key to the universe.

  • I think he used a shallower cup, i know you can hit the on bigger cups but he sound a bit unsteady and it just had the tone quality of a shall cup mouthpiece. I know he was using a vibroto to some degree, but the mouthpiece was noticeable. I don't like the mic. He played it nicely but a mic always ruins trumpet music unless it is for that.

  • I can hit whatever octave that high C was in on my baritone (euphonium) not on trombone though I wonder why?

  • @seanbroOG I play both in band and I think its how the two are designed - I noticed its a lot harder to hit pedal notes on my trombone than my baritone (on baritone it just feels easier to get out)... I know you're talking about high notes, but I think it applies

  • LIKE A FUCKING BOSSS!!!! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Double c = jiźžżźžż

  • i like how the commentators are just" well done" if that was me, i would be screaming my head off! did u not just hear him play a note over what christina aguilara can sing??!

  • Win

  • WHAT A BOSS

  • Yeah that note has to be illegal...

  • @NDguy141 actually, i'm a saxophone player and my face pretty much exploded when he hit that uber uber high note.

  • Im pretty that note he hit is illegal in all 50 states including cuba and puerto rico. LOL

  • @o0GingerFever0o Tis the note of Freedom

  • @o0GingerFever0o Heh, not Cuba sir! B)

  • este wey es kabron awuevo!!!!!!!

  • i wish someday i can play like that.... O.o

  • omgsh he's so high! no way he can go higher. wait no!! he went higher! ahhhhhhhhhhhh XD

  • ..... SPEECHLESS!!!! HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIT! O.O

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZJIZZ. AMAZING! What trumpet and mouthpiece does he have?

  • OMG...im in love <3

  • AAAGGHHHHHHHH.............jizz.

  • At 2:08 CAN YOU FIND THE MONKEY

  • I dont know how many times i rewinded it to 1:35 to the end lol

  • i kno his head hurtin like fuck

  • HOLY CRAP im a trumpet player have been playing for 8 years, and i fond it an accomplishment to hit a high f. BUT HE JUST HIT LIKE A TRIPLE HIGH C o.O

  • @NDguy141 So true...

  • Meine drei kleinen Kinder lieben Arturos wundervolles Spiel der amerikanischen Nationalhymne und wir sind bei jedem Anhören aufs Neue ergriffen:-)

    Arturo for president!

  • i literally cried my eyes out after watching this.. being a guy who's a fellow trumpet player and highschool first chair i wish to be as good as him one day.... this guy is the complete reason i play the trumpet.. ever since i was little i looked to this guy as a complete role model..

  • hes playing good but hes kissin his gf as my band director calls it poking out his cheeks

  • Thats my best friends name arturo sandoval

  • OUTFREAKINSTANDING!!!

  • One word: Chills.

  • Thanks Arturo because you did what a lot of us like to do in this BEATIFUL country....to write a huge THANK YOU AMERICA (USA)!!!!!!! in capital letters, and you did it with this play!!!!!! GOD BLESS U AMERICAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

  • Arturo Sandoval: "Yeah, so I just played the Anthem two octaves above the galaxy...so what?"

  • Besides what a talented individual he is, I think about a cuban citizen that escaped the dictatorship of Cuba just so he could play his music freely and now here he is playing the American National Anthym in public -- something he could NEVER do in his native country. It gives me goose bumps just knowing where he came from, how he got here, and what he is doing with it.

  • get that microphone out of there

  • I love the stupid look on the kid in the white shirts face at 1:10

  • @NDguy141 ROFL that's hilarious bro. I'm in the trumpet players category XD

  • ES UN GENIO ESTE TIPO!!

  • I'm taking a guess here but I think the entire brass section of the Bearcat band just jizzed.

  • Arturo took all the chops and didn't leave any for the rest of us.

  • Comment removed
