you can't just get a composite to vga cable. i tried that and wasted 4 bucks on it, lol.

you really need to convert the signal itself, so you'll need a composite to vga converter.

Hi. What you have to do, after plugging in your standard A/V cables, is switch the input on your monitor. That should do the trick.

To everyone asking how I did this; I simply attached the factory cables (A/V)to the back of my monitor, it has inputs already installed, however, adapters are sold for the same effect. Hope this answered any questions.

im hoping to do the same, i just about a samsung lcd monitor, but it only has dvi and vga outputs behind it, i went on ebay and i saw there are rca-->dvi cables... would this work?

i noticed some people buy these boxes and run it through the computer, but i'd rather just use the monitor only

dear pachein321 , You need a component ( the three colored plugs that you plug in your tv , Red , white , yellow) to VGa or Dvi adapter or a VGA box ,but that is more complicated sooo basically u need to buy a couple of converters for the video and Audio output .

I don't think you can't just make a cable - that wont work - you need a voltage to convert the signal. That's why VGA box's work and Monitors with the RCA/Component connectors.

I can do that with my pc, and it is a HP media center pc, that allows Tv, so it would run at 480i/480p or something like that with my LCD 22" Hp moniter, so it runs better than on my old trappy fat tube tv, only problem is it runs slower and the reaction time takes a little longer, i think ill trade my new wii, a ps2, a gc, gameboy advanced sp, and accercories for one, btw i want to run it in my PC or living room 72" phillips HD-TV at 1080p, Can it be done...btw i have an xbox360 also ^.^
