  • Making music nowadays is even easier. It's great that they have come up with ways to get your creative out of your mind and on to the computer.

  • how old are these videos rofl haven't seen a CRT monitor in a WHILE

  • cool

  • /watch?v=vZk2_o0lOSI

  • trying to do what a drummer does is futile, two different animals imo. If you want something that sounds like a drummer get a drummer. If you can't afford a real drummer or can't find one then get a SCI Drumtraks and keep it simple - because it sounds weird when you try to be "just like a real drummer," but the sound is right.

  • my advise to people is dont always quantise. Especially for the drum's sometimes you want that natural boom-boom-bap feel if you understand me. And for melodys to, its good to get that natural feel. it takes practise. sometimes to me quantising takes away from the realness .

  • all u busters hatin...lol the man said it wasnt gunna be a hit...hes jus givin u tips on drum progamming......

  • thanks a bunch.... love it... give you something to go forward with.

  • @glennduck93 WORD UP!!! i aint gotta a rich dad to buy me no shit, i do it like 9th DID IT str8 from the computer

  • @glennduck93 Harden up, Hardware aint hard, software's for the soft. Do it like it was done in the golden age.

You dont need to buy these expensive machines, but you wont emulate the sound quality of most analog gear on your computer.

  • @glennduck93 Well id say go for whatever gives you satisfaction. creative flow might not come from the keyboard. making music should be fun. if u think expencive machines then go for it=) if not. play with the keyboard!

  • @glennduck93 is it easy? lol

  • @glennduck93 Thats what I have been doing. I do it just for fun, when I feel it. And I think i am starting to get better at it. I have been wondering if I should put something on Youtube.

  • 0:46, this guy is def gettin tool with it.

  • This is pretty bad.

  • i want to become a music producer..make beats and stuff,i wonder if they make good money

  • @west93 It's about having fun with it, the money is a bonus :)

  • @west93 getting into music production for the sake of money... not the best choice. for the love.... you will get much farther and make more money, but if your idea is to get in and make money fast, good luck.

  • @flux302 but that wasnt my idea though...i said "i wonder"

  • @west93 ahh ok.

  • @flux302 uh huh

  • @west93 the average music producer makes about $300 a year. good luck

  • @JohnF30Music yea sure,where YOU come from is $300 a year

  • @west93 how much have you made from your beats?

  • @polidosk8 havent you seen that every major music composer got rid of their mpc and got a miko? which is basically a computer with software?

  • the sky's the limit guys

  • The Akai MPC is not a drum machine it's a sequencer/sampler

  • @theANT47 it's a kind of drum machine with a built-in sequencer and a sampler. It's definitely not like the old vintage drum machines if that's your point.

  • @theANT47 the Akai MPC2000 is a sampler, sequencer and drum machine.

  • @Cassie0z well, your opinion to the majority of producers(especially hip-hop) means ignorance and superficiality to music. hardware will always be better than software, even people who produce with software say that the groove and feel of an mpc is unique and no one will ever be able to recreate that feeling into a production software. im just stating the truth

  • the tempo is absolute? well, not at all!

  • whats the mixer in the background? and price?

  • Produce The Hottest Royalty Free Beats Here:

    myapps43.nebula3.hop.clickbank(DOT)net

  • the sampel is from the beatels right

    i know it

    heheheh

    but cool beat

  • @justinlecktschimmel Yeah, it's "Come Together"

  • @justinlecktschimmel It is, but don't tell...Paul will make me pay for it..the MPC3000 is my favorite...but this is my house set up.

  • U suck.

  • oh i have learnt everything i needed to know from this video! lmao

  • too much blow brotha..............

  • A very basic video for someone that's just starting out using drum machines.

  • :{:{: please click on my channel to see me making hot beats:{:{:{: thanks every body

  • So everyone just go out and buy about $5k worth of studio kit -as you do- and pick someone who can drum better than Ringo, with all that stuff anyone can do anything...genius!!

  • Anybody know how much that beat machine it is or what its called?

  • mpc 2000

  • that was horrible

  • Please help... How is the sample_loop machine called???

  • AKAI MPC2000 (not XL)

  • you me be know smth that I missed :)

  • Huffle is right. I'm all for sampling but you can do it without blatantly ripping off other artists. The beatles got the drumming right the first time anyway.

  • Good ! Chck out mine

  • So.. the Beatles do all the actual creative work over 40 years ago and now we just put samples of drums over the top and say its 'my beat'?

This is the way the world ends.. Not with a bang but a whimper.

  • +1 (thousand)

  • @Hufflewaffle what a 4 second bass line?

  • No, a 4 second sample like this evokes the entire, already established, successful, piece of music along with all the cultural, historic and aesthetic connotations that go along with it.

If it really was only 'a 4 second bass line' it would take very little for someone to actually come up with a new one.

'Beats' like this are blatant attempts at taking a short cut to creative success without putting in any actual work or taking any creative risks.

  • i dig the sample

  • luks like d AKAI

  • your newschool eh...

  • whats better to make beats with a drum midi like he has or a keyboard

  • i thank eleric drums

  • i use a keyboard and software on the computer. but i would say either way is fine... rapping is more my thing anyways haha

  • keyboard

  • hey mahn i was just wonderin whats the name of your beat machine..

  • It sounds like come together

  • it IS come together

  • Is he laughing or crying at 1:45? :o

  • wut the hell was that? lmao was he holding that in?!?!

  • Comment removed

  • No idea :p

  • 3/4 is the same as 6/8

  • not exactly, in some music lets say you want 1/8th note rest, you cant write that in 3/4 becasue there are only 3 quater note timing in there.

  • Hey dude have you ever considered farming?

  • peep his laugh at 1:43 XD he ain't emulating shiiiiiiiit

  • this is gay

  • yeah right... you had to be told first... jk

  • how much is the fish

  • does this beat machine help if you are a little ofbeat?

    would be cool

  • yea you just have to use quantinization like he says at like 2:23

  • i hope you're joking. come together was by the beatles, not aerosmith

  • Aerosmith covered it at one point

  • yes, the original was by the beatles. i think the aerosmith version sounds similar to the beatles version, but i like the beatles one.

  • there is no second part<its a ,,hence the name LOOP!trust me,ive been making beats and djin for a while now

  • how much is this

  • Oh man, I have the PERFECT lyrics for this!

  • This is the first video on youtube ive seen about making a beat on the mpc i could actually understand. good teacher.

  • he makes it look sooooo ez. great teacher.

    very laid bak.

    food job!

  • wat is that freking machine called that hes using

  • akai mpc 2000

  • @kaybronson100 no shit

  • eh did u sample that beatles song, come together?

  • thanx 4 gud stuff brv u helped me quite alot caz i wanted 2 make sum music ..thax

  • I recommend that no one watches the videos of expert village the videos are to short and they dont tell exactly what their doing

  • have you heard about computers

  • you are noob!

  • wat are you using????

  • being a producer myself i can say that 3mins is definately no where near long enough to show someone how to make beats and it would help if you actually told people what you was doing rather than just doing it

  • If your a producer you should have understood everything he just did..all he did was show his forumula

  • does expert village have any knowledge the financial side of music producing?

  • this dude is sick

    everybody can suckit

  • it kinda looks like a fax machine

  • lol duel . i did a run dmc beat with walk this way..... that my first and my best beat but i dont have no more. nice beat beatles ? if i had a mpc thats the beat i mess with... you did well.. dont give up..

  • How about a dual cassette deck.lol

Thanks for not using that-ANNOYING 'SNAP' used so often these days...

    [Goodness only knows why.]

    Nice post.

  • the equipment you are using is from the stone ages. get some latest softwares, way easier, cheaper and way better sound.

  • funny

  • its about the person behind the hardware or software, not the stuff itself. Plus, old mpc sound is way better in general for some nice down and dirty loops.

  • they pre-aprove them, but yes, anybody can go on it, there information is good, but not always the best, its really up to poeple who are the best, to aproach expert village, its really not EV's fault. They've got a great idea running, they just need to make sure there running at the right speed, and stop stumbling over stupid videos explaining common sense. My opinion : )

  • EV's "how to make beats" vids are hilarious! I love watching these "experts" lol

  • i was thinking the same. I thought "is it a joke?"

  • dude, why dont you just use FL Studio?

  • the beatles.

    i like that beat

  • Expert Village Sucks!!! I could give better explanations for 80% of these videos. Do they just let anybody put stuff and say there experts?!

  • they're* .... looks like your an expert on grammar as well...

  • I don't have to be... expert village already have a bunch of them!

  • has*

  • lol

  • HAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH vagina vagina

  • nice work..! thank you..

  • I wouldn't waste to much time knocking this guys setup. It doesn't matter what gear you use. Only whether or not you know what to do with what you got that matters most.

  • I've never seen any software that can replace the setup this guy has.

  • how much did you spend on that drum machine, and the sound kit behind you?

  • That's some old shit... you see, there is a software called frutiy loops and they have the 9th version of it now... so instead of using that bulky sound producing piece of shit, why don't you just install fruityloops on your PC?

  • blah blah blah... different equipment does different shit... deal.

  • where you get the 9th version at?

  • ..You aren't seriously suggesting he replace his MPC with Fruity Loops? FL studio can't even do 3/4ths!

  • So enlightened...

  • Samplings a cheats way of producing.. Each to there own I guess

  • sampling is recycling old shitty music.

..obviously not always shitty but still a respectable way of making music. hip hop really is the folk music of the modern day.

  • Not always old shitty music most times its taking whats good and adding a bit more oomph.

Secondly i wouldn't call hip hip the new folk music I been into it for a while and only a few artists these days say anything thats good or worth listening to, folk music of the modern day is folk music. even rocks mainstream shit.

In fact the best music is to be found underground.

  • unfortunately i have to agree.. i think technology is make amateurs pop and real muso's underground.

I think arguing over technology is really sad... it doesn't make you a better or worse muso

  • mainstream rap isn't folk music. underground hip hop is modern folk music relative to what folk music was before the era of rap and hip hop...

  • Until you listen to DJ Shadows, Entroducing... and realize its a fucking awesome way to make music.

  • True, some sample based producers who tweak the sound and create a unique twist on something old they are the true artists of the form. That takes geniosity, not many artists have this attribution.

  • some old equipment u got there

  • COME TOGETHER :D

  • Interesting, thanks.

  • COME TOGETHER YEA!!

Its Funny back in the 70's and 80's lots of artist repreformed this song. Michael Jackson, The Bettles, and The Brothers Johnson.

  • come togather is from the beatles they didn't cover it you person

  • That sample is from

    The Beatles "Come Together".

    Oooo they're gonna sue

    you.

  • lol, I love ppl that talk shit and cant back it up.

Thats like saying: "My Baguazhang can easily defeat your Muay Thai Boxing." Then when ppl say, "Lets see" you go: "Ah, but its too closed-in here and the ground aint level. The sun's in my eyes, and the air tastes too funny."

  • what kinda beat machine is that? Whats the best one(s) to buy?

  • Its an MPC.

That specific one is an MPC2000.

There are other Machines on the same lines of MPCs. Like MVs (MV-8000 & MV-8800) SPs (SP-555 latest). Look up different machines, especially on forums (if you have to ask, dont ask "Which is the best." because its too supjective and you'll get flamed. Better to ask "What does these machines do, and which is better for [what you want to do]")

If you're looking to buy an MPC, MPC-Forums is probably the best place to go for info on them.

  • I myself use software, along with controllers: Reason4 and MPD24 (and Keystation49e and PadKontrol). All hardware and software GENERALLY do the same things. The differences come into the layouts, and more exclusive features/tools, etc.

Can of course get demos of software online. You can also go to a Guitar Center or SamAsh (and maybe some other music stores) and try-before-you-buy. (You dont HAVE to buy it there if you dont want to of course) To see what you like/dislike and need/dont need.
