I must say that this performance caused me to really appreciate Constantine as a performer! I think it was one of the best tributes to F.M. I have ever seen. Nobody will ever replace Freddie, but this was a very nice rendition in my eyes and keeps that classic ballad alive! Thank you Constantine!!

It's because they can't fit the judges critiques into the timeslot unless the songs are 2 minutes.

Also, this encourages the contestants to do their OWN take on a song instead of KARAOKE, since the point of the show is to showcase themselves as artists in the CONTEXT of old songs.

Therefore, the more inflexible old-timers are not the audience, and will not be pleased by the show.
