Really nice video. Me and my husband are starting the walk on 30th May 2010 and are doing exactly the same days. Really good insight into what lays ahead and cant wait.
Myself and a freind are walking the West Highland Way twice this summer (There & Back Again, as the event is called) for a charity called Rokpa (helping in Tibet, Nepal and Zimbabwe).
Thanks to your film and photography, I am looking forward to it even more.
YOU HAVE GREAT STUFF IN YOUR CHANNEL! THIS IS OUTSTANDING! If you like, I'm triyng to do two vids, one of my dog and another of some places of my country (Argentina), I know they won't be good as yours, but if you'd like to see them, please check my page in about two weeks. I'd be dlighted. Cheers! :-)
i'm doing this walk solo without accomodation in winter (december) 2009! if i do i'll be the youngest person to do it solo in winter with no accomodation! I'll be 15 at the time
I didnt get the chance to do it during the winter but did it during the easter holidays, im planing on doing it during december, i was it to be really cold to really test out my gear
I am a Scot now living in Indiana since 2003. I have just watched your video and I envy you as this is a dream of mine...to also walk the Highway...maybe one day. However, my main point is I want to thank you for allowing me to see my homeland once again...Thank you...
i feel deeply itchy feet watching your diashow. wonderful images captured of a magnificent scotish nature. i walked the way in Octobre 07 and filmed the whole trail.

great video, i live maybe 15 miles from where the west highland way starts, and too think that folk come from all over the world to walk it yet ppl who live just mils from it have never gave it a second look
I did this walk myself a few years back took us a week and i loved every minuite of it. I now live in the United States so may never get the chance too do it again. I wish. Nice music too.
If you can make the time, it'd be tempting to spend an extra day at Inveroran and take a side trip toward Loch Etive. I headed out that way on an evening stroll. Maybe it was the weather, but that was such a pretty little valley.
It's a great walk, not too hard, not too easy. I'd avoid doing it in high summer though, especially if it's as hot as it was this year, as there's little or no shelter from it once you get past Loch Lomond, plus the Midges too. I actually prefer the colder months.
Well done, guys! Looks like you some great weather for it as well. Me and my Dad did a couple of weeks ago, and it was great to re-live it via your movie (and to see it without the rain and mist that we experienced). Thanks for posting this!
We were pretty lucky-- a couple of days of rain along Loch Lomond. Other than that, the weather ran from great to glorious. Leave a link if you post some pics or movies anywhere.
It's a great hike. My advice is to get friendly with the other walkers in your hotel at Milngavie the first night-- you'll be seeing a lot of them constantly throughout the trip! We started and finished with the same Belgian couple.
The southern parts up to Rowardennan are very well maintained, and I think you are right that they have done some work. Rowardennen to Inverarnan has always been the rough stretch. North of there is mostly very good, wide paths, but at times the loose rock surface is hard on the ankles.
Did this walk with the dog in May 2009. I enjoyed your video, brought back memories. Did the Great Glen Way the following year.

A great walk, done it 5 times myself. Looks like they've improved the paths a bit on the Southern stretch.
