  • This song takes me back, Thanks for posting this.

  • When I listen to this song, my heart aches in a dull

throbbing loneliness for you my sweet angel.

    JIM

  • I still have this CD

  • I come from the same city as her (Norwich) ; WHAT A PRIVILEGE ! !

  • From the era of ' Robin Hood:Prince Of Thieves ' and ' Monster in My Pocket ' ; ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER ? !

  • This was the best pop song of the 1990s by far ; my God it brings back great memories ! !

  • I remember this song from way back but had never actually seen Cathy Dennis before now. She's very pretty.

  • I'll always love this song.

There is so much attached to it for me. Still means the same to me today as it did all those years ago.

    xox

  • Her voice is sooo feminine it's soothing....in a weird way...and it makes me remince too but I was only 6 when this played! lol

  • Great song and it applies to an adult situation as well. The 90s were awesome!!!!

  • nice song

  • 'Can't get you out of my head', 'Toxic' and 'I Kissed A Girl' are just three of many songs Cathy has written, sh'es rollin' in the doe now

  • Cathy Dennis is so beautiful. I remember when this song came out. I love this song. Cathy I miss you!

  • This song always makes cry.

  • beautiful sexy and talented woman with a gorgeous voice, who went on to write for Kylie Minogue as we all know. I always thought Cathy could have sooo performed 'cant get you out of my head' as well as kylie had it been written in her heyday. I always think of Cathy when I hear that song. This is gorgeous too.

  • i love this song it speaks out to me and thats how i feel on someone speaicl to me

  • I remember the 90's... Love this song!

  • satanic!

  • I still love this song, times are hard, keep going all!!!! love this it is insperational, i hope i spelled that right, lol. My time has yet to come. Good Deal!!!! My Strength is with in!!! Lots of hope to all in these hard times.

  • Cathy, I´m in love with you, maybe in heaven.I was in Canada at the moment I heard this nice song (1992) lots of memories!!! Deep in my heart!

  • Cathy Dennis has one of the single best voices I or anyone has ever heard! I first listened to her when I was 13, and every year she only gets better.

  • 1991? I miss this year. I was in college, got my first real job in the summer. Memories!

  • Loved this song when young. Still good soong.

  • Back when I was a young man named Arik I fell in love with a beautiful woman named Denise but too many walls were there to have us be together. Walls like bad economy, bad health, no job and so forth. Young lovers treasure each other because someday there will be too many walls just like the song says.

  • Yaah i agree with you arik. Even to married couples sometimes love goes out of the window when poverty knocks at the door.. . .but my advise is: hold on coz every day that comes brings us all to better. Walls will be gone just like the berlin wall hihi

  • but that's life man here it is.

  • No song reminds me of 1991 than this one! So many memories! I was sophomore in college, got my first job that year. Now I'm almost an old man!

  • This one is so well done! Great song and arrangement. Thank you Ms. Dennis.

  • she was a madonna clone, she actually sounds more like martika....mid 80s to early 90s many dance/ pop singers sounded like this...all trying to duplicate madonnas iconic success

  • youre very right..! Madonna survived because everyone thought she wouldnt....she create the trends , she never followed ANYBODY musically ....kathy dennis ' greatest strength was her song-writing ability...

  • agreed

  • Still a great song after all these years...

  • I agree with you.

  • i love this song i was just 9 when this was released but loved it from the 1st moment i heard it on da radio...

  • i here it alot in the grocery store gets me through the drab deal of doing grocery shopping good song

  • dude i feel u i hear a lot to

  • Wow!! I really love this song. I was in the university in New Haven, CT heading to JFK Airport for a flight to Mexico in December 1991 when I heard this great song on my "walkman."

Brings back memories as I watched the scenery from the window of the limo. I really want to get sentimental now; I miss that girl I met at JFK while waiting for my plane. Those university years were the best years, period.

    Thanks for the great post.

  • Why doesn't she come back?

  • Her best song.

Still sounds good even today, which I guess is why Adult Contemporary stations still play it.

  • I thinks it the other way around a young women in love with an older man

  • thanks for posting this, i heard it in the store the other day. I remember this from my late teens. it's such a positive song especially with all the negativity these days.

  • nice !!! song i never heard this song but man im in love and it makes things so clear for me its true lyrics are touching just enjoy life

  • good message for people listen, be strong, keep going , life goes on, keep faith and live ,love, & enjoy!!!! we need more strength, it does come from within.

    What an insparation.

  • beautiful women beautiful song!

  • She is very very talented. Cant believe she wrote so many hits for some of todays top artists. You go Cathy!!!!

  • one of the best female vocalists ever.

This track is relaxing, Ive always liked it.

  • i like your comment, thanks 4 the laugh

  • She's beautiful and a really talented singer... Lots of comments about the past here... Did any of you know that the singer you remember from this video from the 90s is responsible for more current hits like Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get you Out of My Head" and Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl"? Don't believe me? Google it!

  • excellent comment and i agree...there's something about natural beauty and a beautiful catchy song :)

  • I heard this song for the first time just last year in 2008. I don't know how I missed such an amazing song all of these years, I absolutely love it. It reminds me of all the great songs of the 90s that I listened to when I was younger. I sure miss those days!

  • I know what you mean, I was like 10 when this song came out.

  • I was way younger - like 6 or 7 and I remember singing along. Aww, dang, way back in the day.

  • You know the early 90s really did have some good pop music. What happened to it?

  • You must have her mistaken with your mama.

  • Good comeback. Makes so much sense!

  • She was so beautiful. Loved her when I was like 8 or 9. Love this song.

  • TOP 10!!! hottest red head period!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all TIME fave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's so amazing how music can act like a time machine...I remember those days like they were 5mins ago when I hear this...

  • Me too, i remember having this on a smash hits cassette tape!

  • I know, somewhere in this head I could remember this song, I thought it was Belinda Carlisle for a while though!

  • She's better looking than Belinda Carlisle and a better singer, too.

  • One of my favorite songs from the early 90's. Thank you for posting this.

  • woah, I shouldn't have listened to this song again..here I am, married with a lil 5 year old girl playing on the ground behind me but I feel like that 15 year old boy again who thought he was in love.

  • Cathy is fantastic. Love the song, but don't really think the vid does it justice.

  • I like the song but the end is awesome!(violin part)

  • I used to work at Toys R Us, this song used to play on the "Toys R Us Radio Network" like 2 to 3 times a day. It was cool every time it came on.

  • One of the few good songs from the 90's!

  • my God I got the album just for this song the words are so true ;-)))) *****

  • i love this song alot .

  • One of the all time favorites! Thanks for posting! HOORAY!!

  • What a beautiful girl. Wow

  • Music on the radio was great to listen to during this time. Nowadays it is so stressful. Thanks for the post!!!

  • great song Cathy!

  • memories..... xxxx

  • I love this song...and the violin bit at the end is superb...thanks for sharing this vid!

  • So fit.. Wash yer mouth out!

  • She rocks i will have to check out here older cd's anyone with suggestions...

  • Hubba hubba hubba hubba Ssscchhhwinngggg!

  • my mam loved this song when she was 15

  • I love this song, but this is one of the weakest fricken video's I've ever seen. And this is from my era too! Sheesh. Thank heavens the song is great.

  • I remember this song when it came out, I was at a residential school, when I was like 16 or 17. Beautiful song, as well as a beautiful lady.

  • i like ashley tisdales verition more

  • Me too. I seem to like Ashley's unoriginal songs better than her original songs. :\ Ironic...

  • That is not irony.

  • I don't see how it is not irony. Irony is a contrast between expectation and reality. I expected the songs that were not original to be subjectively worse than her original ones, but in reality, they were not. Of course, now reality has to be defined. Well, subjective/relative reality is what I mean. Maybe my mood or hearing AT's version influenced my decision. Whatever. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, etc. At least people like the song.

  • Great song the a terrific beat. Very catchy!

  • She was hotter than I remember! :)

  • I have always LOVED this song!!! I miss her so much--what a talent :)

  • Even after 20+ years, i still freakin love this song! I didnt kno she writes all these hit pop songs till now...Im happy to know shes still around and producing hits one way or another

  • Agree 100 %

  • when I was a child I was in love with her hehe

  • agree with hopemccoy - a great great talent. she wrote this and 'toxic' and 'cant get you out of my head' too. keep writing!

  • great song i had forgotten about it.

  • Reminds me of my old love denis cote, I will always think of you

  • this is women behind most of todays female pop artists' hits if you here a catchy song from new female pop artist cathy probably wrote it.

  • Not only has she written most of Britney Spears music, its been proven she does them better! She is far more talented than most people even know!

  • If my sister is out there and reads this she knows the connection this song holds for us both.

  • This song is so soulful it gives me the goosebumps. Even after many years, this song still doesn't sound dated. Oh yea, she's a babe too. :)

  • As a redhead I was always told Don't wear Red shirts and dresses....if Cathy Dennis can do it, then so can I :-)

  • are you georgeous like Cathy though?

  • Apart from being a good song, I now remember why I liked the video too. Cathy Dennis is Nectar.:)

  • I wanna drink!

  • I couldnt agree more. Make a fortune if you could bottle that!

  • I have known this song for over 20 years and it still gives me a thrill this Lady is beautiful

  • check this...my house's architect built too many walls in my house. this guy put a wall in that goes across the front of shower. the only way in and out of the shower is through a hole I cut through the ceiling.....I am hoping Cathy reads this and sees that I too am dealing with 'too Many Walls' and will want to sleep with me

  • ROFLMAO!

  • thanks for clearin' that up man/i own this album on CD/i think this is her best song on the album (barely)/i'm not sure i wanna hear Ashley's version cuz she probably butchered it/she can't compare to Cathy/i doubt many can/i'd like to pick up her other albums

  • OMG..7th grade..this was melissa's song to PAT the RAT!!

  • it's 1991

  • ok so maybe the single(TOO MANY WALLS)was released in the U.S. in '91/i don't know/everyone seems to disagree

  • I know that it was definitely after my high school graduation, so after June 1991. She released a dance track first, and then this song second, so it was probably Spring 1992 when radio started playing it.

  • 1991

  • scroll back a few pages/this album dropped in 1990/confirmed by me and another guy

  • it was released in 1990 and the singles hit the charts in 1991 first was Just Another Dream in Jan, Touch Me in march and too many walls in sept

  • You are correct. I was in the AF reserves and was subject to call in the first gulf war, and I remember hearing this song at the time:1990-1991. It was and still is beautiful.

  • 1992

  • does anyone know what year this song came out?

  • I AGREE.

Reminiscing 90's beautiful music like this makes me cry. They don't make this kind of music anymore nor play them.

  • Ashley Tisdale does a really good cover of it.. it almost sounds like her

  • if anyone cared, people wouldn't be watching THIS version.

  • No need to get bitchy.. i just commented on the video..

  • yeah. you commented on this video but instead of commenting about this video, your comment was just to whore someone's cover version of this song. but what makes you think anyone cares about this other version?

  • I care i heard ashleys version and thought it was one of the best songs ive ever heard sp I listened to this one and its also amazing I bet lots of people care about Ashleys too.

  • I love this song so many happy memories back then. I have now put this in my quick list lol

  • great song, great singer pity she went into song writing. i think she co wrote kylies can't get you out of my head.

  • this can be considered as all time favorite.. its a great song

  • This song came out in 1991, as did the album that came with it. It was my fave song of that year. Not many tracks as good as that these days.....

  • Good But Sad Song. Thanks For Sharing.

  • the early 90's still had some 80's influence. You can hear it in most of the songs. Thank God, because as the 90's moved on, we got Grunge, Whiny R@B and hardcore Rap. That's when I shut my stereo off for good!!!

  • thanks for the negative marks you fuckin' faggots/y'all got no taste in music i see/STILL Cathy Dennis is the shit/so gimmee a positive mark

  • I love Cathy she has a very outstanding voice and she sings wonderful.

  • jeez! i was in love with her as a kid.

still am! soooooooo gorgeous. ginge or not......

    i still would!

  • I don't care how old it is. I love it

  • This song is so fucking old school I was 11 when this was a hit lol memories

  • love the violins at the end

  • I love this song. I was with my first boyfriend when this song came out and I fell in love with this song.

  • thankyou 4 putting this on! iv'e been looking for this for 5 years!

  • This reminds of of Debbie Gibson a little, but I like this song it its own right.

  • Cathy's best song off of MOVE TO THIS/yes 1990/emello4you are right

  • Wow I just started randomly singing this song which I love from way back when I was a kid and my aunt used to play it a lot. I'm old now lol and still love it. Can't believe it's up on Youtube. Brilliant!

  • this is a really good song does anyone no what year it was made?????

  • 1990!

  • I'm so into it!!

  • they used to be conservative back then. not like now where singers like mariah carey have to dress like sluts

  • Music videos from past decades focused on the meaning of the song, or a loose interpretation of the lyrics. (or, they were just harmless, silly visual fun) Today, videos are so NOT creative...just boring displays of dancing eye candy, soft porn; and they basically lack "substance"...just like the music itself today lacks substance. Just my wee opinion, dear youtube friends! I guess I'm gettin' old. Bring back quality, artistic videos to VH1/MTV! :0)

  • Amen to that!!! I couldn't agree with you more. 99% of today's music is pure garbage. I am a music lover too and I like alot of styles of music, but music today is a business, just about making money. Music is too important just to be wasted or taken for granite. Music is such a big part of the human condition to be squandered. I miss hearing good new music. I guess I am showing my age too, but I don't care. Bring back high quality music again! Thanks lovejazz1211 for caring. I care too.

  • isn't it ironic that Cathy Dennis a huge songer writer writing and producing a lot of today's crap? :))

  • i think the original is better...that's true most of the time..

  • WRONG!

  • wow, i totally disagree, i hate when people do remakes, dont you love the 90's feel that this song has?

  • achley's remake 2 this was good. but will never AND I MEAN NEVER!!!, be better than the original.

  • RIGHT ON!

  • This is the ultimate song from the year that I was in sixth grade! At the time, they played this song on the radio ALL the time, but I never hear it anymore. Thanks for posting and bringing back great memories!

  • its a love song, its supposed to be this speed. plus ashleys voice cracks alot like shes not a professional singer. shes just another cute face for the disney channel. cathy dennis is really talented. she wrote that song "i kissed a girl", britney spears "toxic" and also sings bakckup on that one, s club 7's "never had a dream come true", and kiley minogues song i forget what its called. all ashley does is covers and shit thats written for her. shes a brat.

  • ashley's song sounds too processed, like her vocals underwent a vocal tuning software to make her sing in perfect tune. You can hear a faint "cher" effect like in that heidi montag song
