They were relentless! Loved them in the 70s. No wonder the punk kids followed them. Never seen anyone who knock out riffs like Mick Green. R.I.P. mate.
i have not tabbed this, and im not an expert but he is basically trowing chords in this solo. its the same chords as in rest of the song but they are played with minor7: em7 played from 7th fret on the 5th string, H7 in regular fashion, and A7 played with G on 1th string and not on the third where you keep the A. Its pretty simple lefthandplaying but his strumming gives it a special feel, also notice that on Em7 he also use the 6th stristring "open E" as a rythmic element, hope this helps.
Beleive me.. As his Mick's son and a telecaster player, that second solo simply doesnt make any sense. That solo sound doesnt match where his hands are at all, If anyone could figure out what he was doing it would be me and I really cant work out a single note of it!! Miss him.
@freethinker01 Sorry about Mick - didn´t realise - I used to go and see the Pirates in the mid 70s and again late 90s ... great player ! Do you know Neville who runs a music shop in Worthing - used to be at Rockbottom in Croydon ?
I saw them twice in the late 70s..what a band.....Mick Green was such an exciting player....the gig in Scunthorpe was blistering..anybody remember that?
A great three piece..they should have been huge....RIP Mick.
Too right......I caught them at Scunthorpe Tiffanys of all places.....Mick Green was just relentless..a truly fearsome wall of sound..Johnny and Frank were just a powerhouse.
What a band..just glad I saw them.....The only tracks that ever did them justice were the live ones on the first album....They should have been huge.
Awesome! Wondering if there is more footage of this festival?

With the pillars this looks more like Dingwalls than the Hope and Anchor. Anybody confirm?

This is what you call a red hot live band. Terrific performance from all three guys here. The energy from this could power a city.
