  • @Arabchick18 Belly dancing arose from various dancing styles which were performed in the Middle East and North Africa. One theory is that belly dance has roots in the ancient Arab tribal religions as a dance to the goddess of fertility. A second theory is that belly dance was always danced as entertainment, some believe that the movements of dancing girls depicted in carvings from Pharaonic times are typical of belly dancing (wiki)

  • @ainisugar Yes your correct, belly dancing started by arabs by different tribal dance.

  • I love the video of this dance...it's so sensual and not the typical belly dancing. Could you tell me what is the name? I'd like to do a search on it.

  • Superbe Ishtar.

  • Beautiful song

  • oddly enough I dont think her voice matches arabic songs ,maybe another kind

  • @EdugeBDroN I am from Morocco and I can tell you that her arabic accent is percet

  • very beautiful

  • when ever i heared this song it touched my heart , LOTFI BOUSHNAQ was the best singer of this song

  • thanks

  • To anyone wondering the song is on "isthar, The Voice of Alabina" CD.

  • this is a classical song originally from Tunisia to Master Hedi Jouini, speaking about someone speaking out about his love.

  • does anyone knows what does this song talks about? i like it so much, i am from Panama and i just like this :)

  • It's actually about a guy who is being asked what he sees in and why he loves a slave girl. He basically explains what he sees in her that others don't and why he can't live without her etc.

  • thanks for explainig :)

  • I love this song sooooo much! Music is so bordercrossing ,I´m from Sweden and shouldn´t be listening to this type of music but There you have ít!!! I loooove it! I hardly ever listen to anything else but oriental music nowadays.

  • @mollestal Why you shouldn't?

  • @linzo005 - I mean ... people do not expect a swedish woman to listen to oriental music....I always get reactions when I discuss it with friends and family...even from arabic friends...maybe because It´s not that common...well i don´t care I love it and will continue to listen and go to my bellydance-classes ;-)

  • @osica1 I am a Kabyle/Chawi Algerian from Algiers and I do listen to many music from around the world

Here in the USA,they almost never play a no English song in their readio

Actually I have a CD of Scandivian singers

I guess that is very normal in our culture since we are in the middle of everyone

I love this Tunisian song too:)

  • @mollestal And Im Egyptian and all I listen to is Hard Rock...but sometimes you need to hear stuff like that! Awesome :D

  • @mollestal, this is not oriental music. Oriental music is very different. This is pure Arabic music. Why take out the ownership of a region that the music belongs to and de-identify with oriental music. Bottom line it is Arabic music, singing in Arabic and it belongs to that region does not have anything to do with oriental music. I should ask what is oriental to you or how do you define oriental. Oriental music to me is Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean and etc……

  • @siddf Vietnam and China and Korea is asian!! Arabicmusic is a subgroup to orientalmusic..I dont know what you are thinking when you say arabicmusic is not oriental...My dance-teacher is Lebaneese and we dance to all kind of orientalmusic =arabic ,lebaneese,tunisian,.etc.... My class is called Orientaldance and we learn all sorts of different "bellydances"....You need to check your facts....Asianmusic and orientalmusic is not the same..try bellydancing to a Japaneese song and you´ll see....

  • @siddf music is universal. as long the artist respects the heritage and the origin - the only parameter is if you like or not the performance. The singer's faith, color of skin, etc. - not relevant.

  • everything in the whole wild world revolves around the rose and if u don't believe me read dan brown !! no body knows that i am the holy grail ,,,the curved at the front and flat at the back ! king arthur died before seeing me because his wife ran with a syphic soldier !! world war 3 is about the rose !

  • OMFG! IT'S RACHEL BRICE!

  • Ohj ... M A S H A L L A H !!! Excellent song .

Arabs, Armenians, Turkish, all of we, dancing , playing music as good brothers !!

    Greetings from Argentina.

  • This music and dance are really fascinating. Great feeling, rhythm and style.

    I enjoyed it.

    I added to my favourites.

Thanks so much to smyle and sepphoras for sharing it. 5*****

  • from me :))

give me your email adress and I send it to you

  • للتصحيح الاغنية للملحن التونسي الكبير الهادي جويني و هو الذي لحن و غنى اغنية تحت الياسمينة في الليل

  • Rachel..I am paying hommage to the true magician in you !

  • perfect

  • WHAT KIND OF BELLY DANCE IS THIS? its very unique

  • Is Rachel Brice and the style is American Tribal Style (ATS).

Look her in "bellydance superstars live in Paris"

  • Its actually called Tribal Fusion

  • This song is originaly tunisian, performed byt he great and famous tunisian singer Hedi Jouini...so medusa211 was right.

  • i think the original is Moroccan, not Tunisien, i guesse

  • well unfortunately there is no guessing the original is tunesian n if you don't know search it up....dont say something you're not sure of

  • @momaje

Its a Tunisian song bro, get your facts straight, two Tunisian legendary singers have sung it.

The first (who actually wrote it) HEDI JOUINI,,,look it up on youtube,

and the second was LOTFI BOUCHNAK

This song is a 100% Tunisian.

  • The original Tunisian version is way better! This is a classic.

  • very lovely song! i love it much!
