I can't tell how its moving cause of the shakey cam, but sats move very silently and smooth and look a lot like stars. Very very big ones like ISS are brighter than any planet. Dead ones and debris will strobe. When they move into the Earth's shadow, they appear to vanish; they're only visible if you're in the dark and they're sunlit. 9 pm is a great time to see them.
They can not, however, radically change direction. If I saw one make a sharp turn I'd say "holy crap a UFO".

Whilst the title of the film IS correct, what you saw was indeed an "UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT", is it not far more possible that what you saw was a lantern, succumbing to a abnormally irrational wind, and not a life-form that is yet to be discovered? I'm glad I ran across your comment here.I had a UFO sighting this last fall of a boomerang shaped craft.I saw that you mentioned UAV's so I did a YouTube search and the first video I watched was the Polecat UAV.I think I found my culprit.There is an AF base about 40 miles from me.
