I haven't cooked a fish in my life but ended up buying some at the Market for the first time. YouTube came to my rescue, I followed your instructions without the capers though and everyone raved. Nice work thanks for sharing!!! :-)
I was thinking about what I can have that was quick and simple. I didn't know what I was going to make until I saw your latest video. It's a perfect meal especially in the cold and frigid Buffalo, NY area. Hey...Sorry about San Diego last night.
I did try the korean chicken sauce -- the sauce was really good but the chicken tenders I made were with breadcrumbs. They weren't battered like yours so the sauce didn't stick and glaze like I wanted to. It was still very good though. I'll have to use your full recipe next time.
Butter has good flavor but will burn quickly. The oil, even olive oil which has a low smoking point (ie burns at a relatively low temp for an oil), keeps the butter from burning.
Looks simple, good and healthy

Hi,
i like fried fish filet very much and this way it's so fast and easy to make..
Lot of germans are 'afraid' to make skillet fish and i don't know why, it's really not complicated!
At work i can eat in a hotel restaurant and whenever they they serve fried fish filet, only a third of the people of usual come to eat...
But 'fish fingers' with fries and lots of ketchup, yeah... that would be a real hit here..LOL!

OK, thank you very much...
I know what it means, when americans say
'very interesting' - They don't care at all!
You win, i will try to focus on the food, i got knocked down....*ROFL*

It is simple and almost elegant really... and don't worry if you do not have capers.
Some chopped up dill pickle would be good as well.
Yeah... the Chargers lost :(
I don't live in San Diego anymore... now I live in Indiana and I am not a huge fan of the Colts...
I really was for the Chargers.
Thanks for your comment!

All your recipes look really good and never too complicated. I am not a big fish fan, but what type of fish works best for this?
resler101 2 years ago
Well .... I mean any white flesh type of fish.. but any will do that you like.
Thanks!
freitasex 2 years ago
That must be a common recipe. I've been doing it that way for years! MInus the capers and plus a little grated parmesan in the flour! ;-)
hallbe 2 years ago
Ummm. sounds excellent your version!

OK.. had to comment again.. as I am sure that you know... I just want to give everybody ideas...
Everybody forgets from time to time... what to make or what sounds good...
That is my mission and also to hear your ideas.. and the parm.. I have not done that... sounds great and thanks!

I am so happy to hear that you experimented with it!
That is what cooking is all about!
freitasex 2 years ago
Wow that looks good!
But I have a question, why do you take oil + butter in your pan? I only use oil or butter...
So why using both?
Bralor89 2 years ago
Butter has good flavor but will burn quickly. The oil, even olive oil which has a low smoking point (ie burns at a relatively low temp for an oil), keeps the butter from burning.
ndktube 2 years ago
I love your question!
I use both because I really like to cook or fry in butter.
But the butter burns easily... so I combine olive oil and butter to help the butter from burning... that way I get a great flavor.
Thanks!

never heard or seen skillet fish. I only eat cod or red salmon
paul1967uk 2 years ago
This was cold water cod... :)
freitasex 2 years ago
@freitasex so what does the "skillet" mean
paul1967uk 2 years ago
Assuming for a second you're not kidding, "skillet" means frypan.
ndktube 2 years ago
The skillet means the utensil or frying pan.
freitasex 2 years ago
kinda reminds me of the parmesan crusted sole fish they serve at romano's macarroni grill
sweet00976 2 years ago
Never been to Romano's mac grill... this is something I saw on TV years ago... and is so simple.
freitasex 2 years ago
What kind of fish is that?
digitalwaffle 2 years ago
I used cod... you can use anything!
freitasex 2 years ago
@digitalwaffle Don't get it, your video says Skillet Fish. But you just told digitalwaffle that you used cod.
paul1967uk 2 years ago
Skillet Fish must mean something in English that does not compute in American language.
I do not understand :)
You have to remember I am a zipster type person.. but then he is way smarter than I am :)
freitasex 2 years ago
@ freitasex never heard the world before.
paul1967uk 2 years ago
Skillet is the pan is how the fish was "quick fried' in.
A quick and easy dinner.
Instead of heating a large pan of oil that is deep and making fish and chips per say. ;)
freitasex 2 years ago
fish cooked this way is my favourite. i have never tried it with olive oil or capers, but i am dfeinately trying this out when i get some fish.
