  • To pollute this masterpiece with this crappy CRAPPY music is almost blasphemous!

  • the music is bizarre and ruins appreciation of the details in this masterpiece

  • Greatest painter who ever lived.

  • you're kidding. Song by Leonard Cohen is not quite compatible to Annunciation.

  • Maybe not the best combo (painting and song) but don't let it getcha down. I like abstract art and I think I see what you want us to get from it. Nice job!

  • @njf1208 Love is not a victory march; it’s filled with agony and heartbreak but also magic and fulfillment. We are tempted to break the “vows” of relationships. Through the heartache of these tragedies we gain perspective on life. Real love is painful, it’s not a cry in the night, nor is it all bright lights. At times it can be a cold and broken hallelujah – but it’s still a hallelujah.

  • @Artzineonline amen

  • Please, cut out the music!!!!! Truly horrible. If you have nothing sensible to say about this most wonderful painting, let it speak for itself.

  • I saw this at the National Gallery in DC last Thursday and it is a beauty.

  • very nice. great imaging. 5/5

  • great quality image... placed into my playlist of Jan van Eyck, thanks 5*

  • I wonder if born again Christians will ever learn what constitutes good music.?

Only speak if you can improove upon the silence.

  • so true

    and how totally unfitting

  • What is unfitting, the music or the comment?

  • the music, off course; for example finck or hofenhaimer would be more in line with the paintings.

    Sorry for being unclear

  • Listening to the music again after having forgotten the whole thing.

Yes, of course, this music is disgusting for this art. But off by light years.

But isn´t it sad that people don´t know the difference from the most remote part of their superficial "culture" Some evangelists convinced me to attend their services but they could just NOT understand that the music was inappropriate. They wondered what must be wrong with me. Not only bad music, but LOUD BAD MUSIC:

God in a soft voice speaks.

  • The images are located in the National Gallery of Art's website. Search for The Annunciation Van Eyck National Gallery, and 'image details"

    Cheers!

  • Where did you get this high resolution image from? I would like to study that for a while. thanks
