"You can hike nearly everywhere almost anytime". Not exactly. In the mountains where most of the trails are the snow gets to be a little deep for a large part of the year, say 12 to 20 feet. Many trailheads are not available because you can't drive to them, the roads are not plowed. Think mid June at the earliest for higher elevations, and that is in a moderate snow year.
@numbnuts234567 I know a lot of people with snowshoes that'd feel differently. might not be ideal, but it sure is beautiful :) proud to be an oregonian.

The Wallowa Mountains are the best hiking in Oregon.
