Congrats on the rifle.Have the action pillar bedded, change the factory barrel to a free floated heavy varmit contour Lilja barrel. Lap the bolt lugs. blue print the action, lower your glass. All this can be done if you have access to a lathe and mill. You can do it yourself. Best of shooting and keep us posted.
Looks like Remington SPS camo stock varmint rifle. nothing special. Did you use 20moa bases to help for long range? Also you should use lower scope bases to help with the ballistics. Did you free float the barrel? The standard stock has 2 pressure points in the foreend because the stock is plactic. I did mine up and it shoots 5 in a dine at a hundred yards.
this fine rifle is just one tool of many choices for snipers for the different gov agentcys out there. food for thought firearms don't kill man does and this is just one of many tools gov built to kill
Hey I love this rifle, so i searched for it, stumbled across this video, heard your accent and instantly recognised it. Im from Blackwood myself, although I'm sure I can make the exception of talking to a Pont' boy this one time.
@bodbag Hey bud wow small world, i originally came from cwmfelinfach but have lived in the united states for a few years now. Thanks for watching, check out the new sniper rifle build
OK, to all the guys out there, explain to me please as ur observation of a sniper rifle? A sniper is one that cant be seen, and a rifle is a gun that cant be seen, so wheather at short quarters or long range, any rifle can be a sniper rifle, they just perk loads, equipment and the trained person that is firing it! Lets not get the STERIO type of the word (SNIPER) confused!
@MrDan747 - The word Sniper came from the Bird, Snipe. Camouflage may enable snipe to remain undetected by hunters in marshland. If the snipe flies, hunters have difficulty estimating a correct aiming lead for the bird's erratic flight pattern. The difficulties involved in hunting snipe gave rise to the term “sniper,” referring to a skilled anti-personnel military sharpshooter. My term for sniper rifle is, A rifle that can reach longer distances more accurately than standard fire arm.
A .308 will stay super sonic at 1000yds with 178gr at minimum, but accuracy comes form the rifle, and I do not believe that rifle will achieve any where near what purpose build rifle will achieve. Yes the 700 is the action used in the M24, but just because you own a 700 doesant make that rifle a sniper rifle, the M24 is completely different.
@soulcapacitor not correct if you have a rifle which is not capable of small moa's then the best guy in the world cannot make that rifle accurate every shot
@GT03235 Of course a rifle capable of sub moa's is required. just because a rifle can generate sub moa's doesn't make it a "sniper" rifle. It may be a precision instrument or a long range rifle but you have to earn the title sniper.
The complete package owes me around $850 and its worth every penny. The trigger from the factory is super sweet it just is a very accurate rig. Next will be reloading the .308 as i have not got dies yet. The 700 is the same as the military m24 i believe?
That's a VTR Right? I have the same one but .223, and a Bushmaster scope instead.
The M24 has some like cheek, whatever adjustor and what not. Has a different twist than the stock .308 i think, and it has a Magazine instead of the drop in.
Interesting. I think I've seen that scope before, though it didn't seem sturdy enough at the time to work with a centerfire rifle. It'd be interesting to see how that works, seems like it'd be the weakest link on there, though. And I can't find anything about that scope online at all.
Ah, that's good. I've just grown critical of scopes as I got suckered into buying two of the SWFA SS series of scopes, took one out in winter on a Savage 10 in .223 and the windage knob just stopped working, second one fogged up on me after a a humid day shooting it. The reticule looks a little cheesy, but hey, if it works, it works!
If you are going to change your trigger I suggest a Jewell trigger. I put one in my 700LTR. I love it! It is easy to install and adjust. I have it set @ 1lb, 14.5 oz. How do you like the built in Muzzle brake and if I am not mistaken factory porting? One more question, Does it come with a palm swell?
curtis believe this or not i treat all my firearms with lots of love and care. They are cleaned and oiled regular, omg that sounded sexual lol. Thanks for your comment
sweet looking scope-what a bargain at $110.00,hey when are you going to do a video of you shooting your .45 at the range?also it would be nice to see the target after your done to see your shot grouping-also show that SS dagger some time, thanks and you and the wife take care-tom
i took the 1911 out the other day forgot about it sorry lol. There is a large gun show this weekend so it probally wont be this weekend but i now have a ton of 45 acp so soon. The dagger will get a video soon also. Thankyou for reminding me
That's a beautiful set up. If you don't mind me asking what did that scope cost? My 700 is very accurate at 100 meters. That's the max at the range where I shoot. Thanks for sharing 5*s.
