They consume their prey before they kill it? Nah really?? Animals dont have the tools that we have to be as clean and efficient. The Hyena, Leopard or Lion could care less if the meal is still wigglin around or breathing. Its meat and they have mouths to feed also. That hyena did its best to kill that zebra as quick as possible. Unfourtunately all the areas the hyena was focusing on were non fatal, which led to a very brutal, gruesome and painful death for the zebra.

Hyenas are definitely fucked up predators. If I see one, I would just run away (or even find a car, and drive away fast), though I have no plans to go to Africa anytime soon.

@saucy05 Here's another example of hyenas' brutality. Listen to the growling sounds of this hyena as it rips into this baby warthog and rips off its rear left leg. Brutal. They're land sharks. You Tube won't allow urls in the comments so just do a search for

@topsalespro I think i threw up a bit. To be fair, they are not the only ones, lions and leopards do it sometimes. The thing i've heard about the warthogs is that they are hard to choke to death, so they basically they have to eat them to death.

@saucy05 yes, lions will also eat their prey alive. If you search for "lion baby elephant" and "lion eat buffalo alive" you'll get two examples of many. Unlike the hyena, lions take their sweet time when eating live prey—and they're more prone to this behavior when there fewer pressures on them than usual: no other lion prides or competing carnivores, like hyena, in their range.

@topsalespro hyenas bleed their victims out by ripping it's guts and cause them shock from pain and blood loss, wild dogs rip them apart alive in tiny pieces, lions suffocate them by biting their throats but the others start eating well before that because all these predators live in very tough competition and stronger predators (mostly lions who's males also kill every single cub after killing the original alpha male) they want to eat FOR SURVIVAL, they also have cubs y'know...
