  • Music I grew up to, music of my parent's generation : I love it & can only hope & pray it will still be available when my generation passes on. Mr M., & Miss Jo, you were Class it self! Wolfsky9

  • Ohhhhhh My, That sweeter than sweet voice of Miss Jo--we miss you so much, but your music lives 4-ever! Wolfsky9

  • Indeed music to hold each other to - and to dance to - what was known as 'swing and sway'! What great tones and clarity - Johnny's voice never sounded better, and Jo reminds us of how great a singer she was, soloist or otherwise. 'The Big Band Era' - may it live forever!

  • Ladies & Gents, this is singing, the likes of which we'll not hear--ever--again. Ohhh Miss Jo, your voice was so perfect, & easy on the ear --true honey tones, we never ever tired of hearing. Wolofsky9, 65 y/o

  • Beautiful song, great job on the slide show!

  • have you listened candy? a apathy's song

  • This is the music of my Parents, but I grew up listening to Mr Johnny Mercer, & the magnificent Jo Stafford, --hearing this now, brings a tear to my eyes--those daysare long gone--& time is moving on, far too fast. Wolfsky9, 65 y/o

  • This sounds so good, I can listen to this all day. raychapa01

  • I know and everybody who listen that music we never lived these decades, but when we hear this music we understand what's in our heart or not.

The mainstream general music today is garbage and makes the old music more vulnerable, because we living in the wrong centuries fellas unfortunately.

    Salute Fellas ;)

  • It was indeed much more sweeter than nowadays!

  • what happened to the trolly song, was it taken off

  • Thank-Heaven for You Tube--what a great way to keep this wonderful music alive! This is what My Dad & Mom listened to & loved--Johnny & Miss Jo--it doesn't ever get better. Was there ever a sweeter voice than Jo Stafford? Wolfsky9

  • Johnny Mercer: nothin' so sweet ever stood on two feet. Can't imagine the world without his music. And Jo! so smooth, so delicious, and the other pipers- harmony!

How I appreciate your sharing this. Isn't it great we can still listen? Thank you!

  • The melody and harmonies of this song have stuck with me since childhood. I still play this repeatedly and just marvel at its lush sound. Thanks for posting!!!

  • I love the way Manhhattan Transfer does this--but ohh my just to hear the Great Jo Stafford with MR MERCER--IT DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS--EVER.

  • Johnny Mercer is one of the greatest lyricists that ever lived. They say that Frank Sinatra was deeply affected by his close friend's death and shed tears on stage when he heard of his death. He couldn't even finish his song.

  • I adore this song my fave version is by Nat King Cole though.

  • used to just love jo's voice and mercer was a big favorite of mine, thanks for the posting
