  • There is no point of making this vid unless you answer people's questions ! Don't be stupid and answer what fucking transmission did you use ? Wrx ,legacy , outback ?? Phase 2 trans will bolt up to the eg33 .

  • @who933 This attitude won't get you anywhere. I replied to almost all the questions on this page and apologized when I was late with my responses. I am busy doing research for the shit I want to accomplish (like I did for this transmission swap and like you should do yourself), rather than depending on YouTube comments for your project. Search on Google and subaru-svx(dot)net, you'll find all the answers you need as well as kits to make it happen. Good day.

  • hey @treppiede about how much did this cost i was thinking about doing this to my 92,

  • @seekerentertainment I honestly don't remember buddy. It greatly varies depending on how lucky you get with the donor parts (tranny, differential, etc). Get in touch with Tom over at subaru-svxDOTcom, he makes (or used to make) the conversion kit.

  • What trans did you use?

  • @TheGavinch Check the past comments, all the info is in there (already answered). I believe it was an Impreza transmission.

  • @Treppiede Thanks much =]

  • You should take the automatic gear selector diagram out of the gauge cluster and put some kind of fancy LEDs in there or something to make yourself forget it used to be an auto

  • @Shrike2415 Hehe. Actually that was on my to-do list, but I wound up selling the car. All reminders that it once was AT would have been destroyed! ;0)

  • @Shrike2415 lolz i noticed that too it reminds me of a Z32 300ZX for some wierd reason

  • 5 speed Awesome !

  • ? that must be standard oem then; what model svx? i hate the wood grain and would rather have that instead.

  • where did you get that dashboard kit?

  • @1992SVXi Not sure what you're referring to... I didn't install any custom dashboard kit.

  • what about the swap was it hard to do yourself?

  • @Ke20vi10n My mechanic friend played a huge role (the lift itself was a lifesaver). I found the pedals to be the hardest part of the entire swap to be honest with you.

  • what does the top and side car diagram on the dash do?

  • @crammage If I recall correctly they're just to show basic things like doors/trunk open and such.

  • @Treppiede but there is 2 cars?

  • @crammage I know for a fact that on the top view diagram it showed when you had a door ajar. The side one I don't remember. You're probably better off posting over at subaru-svx(dot)net, they'll answer in a heartbeat. Good luck bud.

  • I need to do this to mine, two auto's (with coolers) and I still get problems. Same thing with my Legacy's I just bought another Legacy with MT this week and I won't be having those problems again.

  • how much did it cost you to do the transmission swap?

i really want to do it soon got only 84,000 miles on mine and its a 92

  • What tranny did you use?

  • you are awsome i mean damm that car was made in 95 and you have the interior in amazing condition i wish mine was like that and how did you do the tranny swap?

  • @c0dy198 Hey guys... sorry for the late replies. The transmission I used was from a late 90s Impreza. The swap was not very hard thanks to the MT Swap Kit sold by Tom over on subaru-svx(dot)net. Good luck with your own swaps, it's a lot of hard work (I found the pedals especially painful but it's rewarding once it's done).

  • I have a stealth and love these types of cars, next on my radar is an svx or corrado

  • nice car! i have a 92 with 200k and still runs great..

where'd u get the black dash kit? it looks good

  • He has the Suabru SVX L model. It is the base model with no wood trim, leather, or AWD. However it should be faster because it is missing the transfer case among other things :)

  • i thought all the SVX's had AWD

  • No in 94 and 95 a FWD version was offered :)

lol... sorry I researched these cars a lot before I bought mine

  • @natejg

This 5 speed would have to have come from a FWD subie if it were still FWD. The L model was FWD, but if he went through the trouble of doing a 5mt swap, he threw in an AWD tranny and just added the rear diff and drive shafts. It's a great time to do it, and none of the FWD transmissions that would bolt into an SVX could handle the power.

  • @impooter

do you know how much it would cost for a swap and what parts do i need exactly??

  • @Ke20vi10n go to

    smallcar.com

it will have pretty much everything you need

  • @impooter

    Not True.

I agree with you that it would be a good time to install awd. But i have a all stock SVX LS-L and it has awd. not fwd
