I'm the biggest fan of all id software's games (DOOM, Wolfenstein, QUAKE). I prefer classic games like DOOM, DOOM 2, QUAKE and Wolfenstein 3D, but I can find 100 of great stuffs in new games (DOOM 3, , RTCW, Wolfenstein, QUAKE 4...) so I like them all almost equally. DOOM 4 should be like DOOM 2, Hell comes to earth and you must fight again!!! And imagine the multiplayer, whole earth in ruins!!! It would be the bestestest!!!!! I hope they'll make it like that. ppl, ppl, u should be using zdoom instead.

If u have a copy of the GLdoom wad file, like i do, then u can play doom in all of its glory, with fully 3d monsters and everything. And so far, its the only frontend program that plays it.

And one more thing. THeyre not ports, they front-ends. They only start it up, its almost all in the wads. I coant port for anything, but i could make a front-end. Its just a way to load the game easily.

(zdoom doesn't support 3d models)only gzdoom does.for the Original doom assets (doom.wad,doom2.wad,plutonia.w­ad,tnt.wad and etc) you should use jdoom/doomsday (the engine shown in this vid)but if its for mods (not editing the original levels and calling them your own)use zdoom (like revenge of evil)
