This is depressing without Graham. They all look depressed. They all sound depressed. And also the guitar riffs/parts do sound different. I didn't realise it made that much of a difference who played it live but clearly it does. The guitar parts just aren't as good. And the bits where Graham is supposed to sing...that's just pathetic. I'm sorry. I'm glad I haven't got Think Tank. It would utterly depress me. Also seeing Blur live during this period wouldn't be great.
oh my, this song kinda sucks without graham. it lacks emotion, just compare this with the new performances live now that he's back.
i avoided watching stuff from blur without graham, and now that he's back, i thought i watch something out of curiosity, and wow! it's just bad. boring, bland.
im so glad that they got back together. blur isn't blur without graham
I'm not sure how you can say this performance lacks emotion. Graham is one of the greatest guitar players of our generation, but Simon plays this song perfectly. There are a few songs I didn't like Simon's style on, but this isn't one of them. The lyrics are personal to Damon, with or without Graham. They do speed this performance up a bit, which might take a little of the heartache out of it. But if you tour the same songs for years, you tend to get bored and change things up a bit.
You're saying simon plays this song perfectly, andi just cant take you seriously. He's mediocre, average at best. Even damon thought it was depressing touring without graham. Blur sucks without graham
"Mediocre" guitarists don't get gigs with two of the biggest bands of the '90s. Blur and the Verve both could have gotten just about anyone to fill in that they wanted. As I said before, I don't like Simon's style on a lot of the songs, and Graham's presence is definitely missed. But Simon plays "Tender" pretty well, and I don't think not having Graham saps the emotion out of the song. The lyrics are about Damon's breakup, not Graham's.
Vastly superior and deeper and talented than all the Oasis of this world and all those so called "great" bands right now (Arctic Monkeys I'm looking at you....)
grande musica.
