I have always had dreams about being a space captain or starting my own space academy. Money is the problem in this primitive society. Money might be giving us a roof over our heads, but its stopping our progress into the future at the same time. If money wasn't important, we would have been centuries ahead in technology.
@LeeStone101 Yes, it's a great time to be alive if you can afford $200,000 to take the flight. I live in in the UK and $200,000 is around £100,000+ and even that is a lot of money for the average working person.
@Marky88P Hey, I can't afford the flight either, right now. But the price will come down eventually, because it is not a government monopoly, or any monopoly. There are at least two other companies that compete with Virgin Galactic. SpaceX, and Space One. That will drive down prices in the future.
My original comment was not about the price, but about the fact that a single company can do now, what used to take a large chunk of a entire nation-state budget to do.
ok.....he does make it seem like a cool future. but i dont know why....im getting this weird feeling in my belly. it just cant be this easy. and if something does go wrong it will be so sad. i hope it doesnt and i live to see those space hotels.
@polpotsdog Bigelow Aerospace A private space company offering room on inflatable space habitats/hotels. The company's Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 test modules, lofted in July 2006 and in June 2007, served as forerunners to ever-larger and human-rated space structures... google them :) it should guest 36 people.... on the ISS the max. is 6 astronauts.
This is so so incredible!!!! simply out of this world!!!!!!

I feel honoured to be part of such an advanced civilization, and I thank Burt Rutan and Richard Branson for everything they've made possible.

Why doesn't Google maps show this facility? Empty desert. No roads in. Not there according to Google maps. FYI.
All my love Sir Richard and all involved in this project. The sky is not the limit, the ground is!
