Andrei, I was reading somewhere the other day that the regulators preferred option now for narrow gauge, is that they use commercial vehicle based airbrake systems. Not sure that all have gone over to it yet but I think that is the long term intent.

Have they always had air brakes or is that a recent modification?

@AndreiTupolev The air pumps were fitted during the 1990's. Before being air braked they were vaccum.

Excellent stuff. Their loco no 8 has to be one of the best turned out steam locos anywhere. Its always perfect.

I don't remember these locomotives looking better maintained ever before though I confess to having liked them in BR blue.
