And if I was Dolores I would have killed my incestuous child molesting husband just as quick as she did. Thirdly, it's a movie. every movie has a storyline. Sounds like a pretty believable story to me. I personally think that movies portraying events that could take place in real life much more entertaining then sci-fi garbage they make.

I have to say the list is very good but there are 3 movies i would put in the top: the Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me and (for me the scariest transition of King's work to screen) the original -Tobe Hooper's adaption of Salem's Lot. It still scares the crap out of me.

Hey, The Shining with Jack Nicholson wasn't really after Stephen King, it is more after Stanley Kubrick and other thing: Watch Shining directed by Mick Garris, that mini-series is ttly after stephen, every sceen. Btw very good list :D

I personally thought that "IT" the made for tv movie was awful compared to the book. What about "Storm of the Century"? Does that count? It wasn't adapted from a book though. It was a screenplay written by Stephen King, but I think it deserves to be on the list.

Storm of the century was really good, but i personally hated the mist. I think the shining deserved a better place on your list, while i don't think that IT was the BEST stephen king movie. I thought misery was easily the best one.
