I don't understand how one can practice to balance like that; especially the head on head upside down tricks...wtf? Does that take like 20 years of constant training, the same hours of practice as say on an instrument?

the thing that impresses me the most about this, is that they're using REAL PLATES! Not the rubber ones with a dimple made for spinning, that you would see just about anyone else using.

@geo289 They may be plastic or not, but what you don't realize is that the plates are attached to the sticks with a ball bearing system. They can't fall off. This isn't a theory, this is from working with several Chinese acrobatic troops backstage. You can even see it in this video during close ups. Sorry to burst your bubble.
