  • god bless alan mcgee and creation records

  • Yeah saw Pete last night, great new songs and he still looks about 12

  • Saw them recently in kings x,still have the magic.

  • I was at the Kes Club around that time! Do I know you? Lol......

  • Upside down :)

  • Unbelievable..many happy nights spent doing the indie 2-step to this in the brilliant Kes Club in Glasgow, way back in the 80s! Bliss :-)

  • the 12" was one of the first non-hardcore records i ever bought, because of this song. and then all the old creation comps. anything with the loft on it. dude was such a cool drummer too.

  • Still got the 12" (but no turntable :-( ) Thank you for posting this. I used to have lots of old stuff like this recorded off the tv. Trouble was - my ma n pa had chosen Betamax! LOL! Steve

  • this 12" was one of the first records i ever bought, never saw this vid, thanks for posting, classic

  • Ah the memories. I have this on 12" and will have to dust it off, put on the paisley shirt (top button done up) and annoy the neighbors.

  • would love some wishing stones

  • This brings back such memories. I heard this late one night on John Peel and tried desperately to find a copy to no avail. At the time I wondered if I imagined it. Obviously not ;) Thanks.

  • astonishing. used to blast this at full volume in my bedroom in Downey, Ca.

    urgent, tight, and totally "explosive"

  • Good to know! Keep the faith - Andy from the band

  • Watch Richard Hell Blank Generation

  • I've always loved this song. Probably my favourite guitar solo ever.

  • This as always been a classic track, it's good to see some tv footage of the loft at long last

  • Still gets the goose bumps going....I've written 10s of songs to trying to generate the energy I experienced out of this one. Driven my wife mad trying....given up and now (15 years or more on..) and now do a very lame of cover version, which blows more steam out of her ears than punk version of "Sleep"

Thank you posting...excellent. The Loft & Weather Prophets were the bands I always wanted to be in!!

  • This was the Oxford Road Show on BBC 2 in May 1985. Also on the bill were Bronski Beat, Ultravox, China Crisis and the 3 Mustaphas 3. heady days! The explosions weren't the band's idea.

    Andy
