Thank you so much for your lessons! They've been giving me direction and enlightenment not just with the tin whistle, but to help me pass through difficult times in my life as well. Regards from Brazil!
Father, I have played the Whistle for some time now and I am gettin more and more confident finding my own voice within the the culture. Have a question: Would it be possible for you to do a video on how to do crans cause I have seen my teacher do it when playin the fiddle and I thought: Boy that is really somethin but I aint got the skills yet. How can I approach it? Thanks and have a blessed Advent!
Hello there, thank you ever so much for your great video lessons. Without them I'd be helpless. But - you say that you play a roll and add a hit but in fact you add a cut, don't you?
I'm a fairly religious peron but not heavily: that secti at the start was so inspirational, and the way you incorporate music into religion is absolutely wonderful. I can't wait until I get to this stage, thankyou so much
I thought I`d come forward a bit to see what`s in store. I cannot wait until I get to this stage ! That sounds beautiful !! This has spurred me on to practice even more.....
I'm just learning how to play the tin whistle, but my mum just told me I should seperate every note, bij tonguing, is this really neccery, or only if you play some indentical notes in a row?
I love these videos. They are so inspiring musically and spiritually. Just like an artist creates their own style, so should a musician. Thank you again Ryan!
music is very powerful.. it really effects peoples moods and states of mind.. and irish folk music is so uplifting! i cant wait to get a tin flute of my own.
father im just wondering ive been playing the tin whistle for quite some time now and i just dont have any confidence to go out playing even though people say im good but go off and laugh at me behind my back would you have any advice?? thanking you from Ireland
At the end of the day, when you go out and share your music with others - whether you are the best there is or just learning - you are sharing a part of yourselves with others. This can be scary, I know, but keep telling yourself that you are called to share your love of music with others. Bring joy and energy to the music and no one will laugh at you. Indeed, you'll be amazed at how many people will tell you that they wish they could play an instrument like you!
why father you're using an O'Riordan tip? that's so cool. my last name is o'riordan, and a distant relative of mine actually makes those tops and the o'riordan flutes as well. very beautiful instruments if i must say so myself.
thank you for telling me where to go to find new music scores. i've been looking for some sheet music on reels for a while. need some new tunes *^_^*
Excellent breakdown of song interpretation. Very helpful. Thanks Father!!

The second part of this tune is proving quite difficult for me to get to grips with
The second part's notes start B DD yet you start the second part with an A?

I understand what you're saying and I feel the spirituality of the introduction.
Then the spirituality of the music leapt out from me and I could feel it helping my reproduction. Thank you.
