It's very funny, but unfortunately too many tourists believe in this silly stereotype and think the Dutch police are a pushover. Take the piss and they'll arrest you... even smoking a joint in the wrong place will see you in a cell, so don't walk around like a dickhead with a spliff in a very public place where there are Dutch families with kids.
