WOW, great piano version! I'm surprised Laura Shigihara still concern (and remember perfectly) about music from classic game years ago. I remember this song when I was playing Chip & Dale (NES) at the Final stage. It's very nostalgic. Thank you very much LAURA! You've made my day!
great job as always, ... don't call me hipocritic but i tried the game and it was good x), there i admit it >.<, i can see the replies already :/ lol :P
Hi. Did you ever think to play some final fantasy themes ? I would love to hear you play those awesome pieces. Maybe you already did, but if i may ask, you should listen to the "piano collections" sound track of final fantasy games (I recommand you the FF9 piano collections, I love it :)
@Olqavtoras Haha, I love Darkwing Duck! It was a really fun and well-designed game, and the music had this really cool jazzy-blues-melodic style to it. I was also a big fan of the show... Megavolt <3
@Olqavtoras I second this request for Darkwing Duck! I would prefer the first three stage themes or the boss battle theme. Ah heck, they're all good!!!
@MethodicBR I have a piano and smaller travel keyboard (I also use whatever is in the studio when I go in), but for most work-related recordings I use the Triton. Also, when I compose, I do a lot of manual sequencing in Sonar 6 and X1 (I don't like X1's interface, I think they messed up the UI in a major way)... and I get samples from the Triton, as well as several other soft synths like Edirol Orchestral, Cakewalk TTS, Roland Groove Synth, EWQL, etc.
@supershigi thankyou for your detailed reply :) I was a cakewalk guy (sonar) for a long time ago, last year I tried Ableton Live and I'm liking a lot. When you get used with the unique Session view is very gratifying, you can play around with clips of "ideas" very easy! This approach is very inspirational for composing in Ableton. Congrats with your work, they are pretty good! :)
Excellent work! It fires up my blood hearing this! Zone J was the hardest stage, with the axes, conveyor belts, and those weasels that took TWO boxes to kill!! A real hero's theme!
Ha, you brought back really old memories, I haven't played that game since I was a kid and that clearly was my favourite theme ! I remember reaching that level, and then keeping the game running just to listen to that music in loop ... (good ol' times). Also, I loved throwing my brother, especially in that tree level :D
Wow, you seriously know the most obscure video game music! Not only is it a lesser-known game, but you have to play until the very end in order to hear it. Miss Shigihara, you are legit.
@ShielaSweetie Haha, thanks :P I just remember noticing how much I enjoyed the music when I got to the last stage. I didn't own this game (borrowed it from the local video store), so it was one of the themes I had to record on casette tape to listen to later. Such a fun game... especially being able to throw your partner around, haha.
@KoricTheBrave Haha... I don't know why he gets so funny about those arm warmers (or any plush toy with really long fur)! Thank-you, I'm glad you enjoy my playing. I'll try to keep posting videos!
I have the gir sweatshirt :)
