When Amerie was told to work on Def Jam after the incredible and unbelieveable flop of Because I Love It (2007) I thought that she was lost and would never be capable to do something so good as this album was, also, I thought that she would give up and fall into Def Jam's style doing things extremelly comercial and with no quality at all. I was wrong. In Love & War (2009) is an extremely polish produced album, one of the best things of that year. An outstanding mix of quality and comercial.

Amerie is an amazing singer. She's young and visionary. Her work probably is one of the best things in the modern and pop R&B world nowadays. Her work is far better than anything that any other R&B artists hitting the charts. Her sound is a variety of everything that R&B constructed during the decades since the 60's. There's no one in music industry doing this kind of thing in a so secure and strong way that Amerie is doing and that's the difference between commercial and quality.

I just think people are expressing a preference. We to say the thing we prefer is "better" than the next thing. I like Beyonce but prefer Amerie and will be the first to say Amerie OWNS BEYONCE lol.

Not talent wise and yeah Ameries songs all sound like a remix of "One Thing" lol .But Ms "I'm the all powerful diva with my primadonna forcefield and thighs stronger than any man's!!" Beyonce is not as nice a fantasy than ultra feminine and warm Amerie.

@o82774 Well, if you say that Amerie's work sounds all a remix of 1 Thing, I would say that Beyonce's work sounds all a remix of Baby Boy or Deja Vu in low or mid tempo. She only changes the way she sings and never changes her beats. If you think that about Amerie of course is that you know nothing about her because if you hear all her 4 albuns (yeah, she already have 4 albuns) you'll would be surprised with her.
