  • Can I Get This Beat?

  • How's the Maschine going for you production wise? Would you choose it over Beat Thangs? If so or not, why?

  • @GallonsProductions maschine is my main production tool btv isn't in the same league, maschine is more advanced and is just a totally different product than btv, no comparison.

  • @SoundsAndGear

i need them sounds.. or are you using the original virtual instruments?? thx nice beat.. r&b

  • @tryubochka2008 what sounds? the sounds in this video are coming from btv

  • How do i use the other 8 tracks? 9 thru 16

  • @superdb808 hit the button that says 9-16 and it will go to those tracks as you hit that button.

  • @SoundsAndGear

im looking for a great vst with alot of awesome sounds to use in my productions. i liked how beatthang has so many kits and sounds! i liek how u can make beats within it too! but i have fl studio, and that has a sequencer and everything....i make full songs on there, and i was just planning to buy beat thang for the sounds, and well, making a few drum tracks...is beat thang for me?

  • @famousguyable you may want to check out RIG from Big Fish Audio

  • @SoundsAndGear thanks so much! im on there site now! but one more question....are the presets in beat thang good? like do they soudn great, and is there a great selection? because i have yet to find a video on utube of like someone going through the sounds on beat thang. thank u so much! you have helped me alot!

  • @famousguyable they have some good drum sounds, not instruments.

  • can you make an entire song with it....vocals and all.....?

  • @jameldion no, it's not a daw so you wouldn't really record vocals in it, I guess you could if you want to but I wouldn't suggest it.

  • would you recommend buying this software? thanks

  • @7swagbucks depends on what you're looking for and what you have, and what you expect it to do. It's limited in what it can do and how it can integrate with other software, but has some cool drum sounds, so it really depends on how you plan to use it.

  • would love 2 see the king of mpc on this thing you know that kid from dip set his name is Arab Muzik look him up he will make fire on that thing

  • good but boring :\

  • i dont know how to start recording. do i have to first make my k it?

  • @bcbbanga4l go into pattern mode, select new, then pick a kit or instrument to record with.

  • @SoundsAndGear Wow thanks that was easy sorry i was struggling i just bought this yesterday trying to lear as much as possible. I have been contemplating this product for a while finally giving it a try.

  • @bcbbanga4l cool, glad it worked.

  • it wont work in windows 7 why?????

  • @hookmeupcasting not sure what issue you are having, it works in win 7 for me, but who knows, hit up their support and see what they tell you

  • @hookmeupcasting yes its working in windows 7

  • Ay bro how do you configure the keyboard with beat thang virtual. i have the m-audio keystudio 25 help please thanks in advance

  • @hoodboi25 go into the system settings and set your keyboard as the midi input.

  • @hoodboi25 thanks bro lol

  • GREAT CHANEL THANKS FOR SHARE :D I HAVE A CUESTION. WATH KEYBOARD USING IN THIS VIDEO? AND IF I BUY A KEYBOARD OXYGEN 25 WORKS GOOD WITH KONTAKT? THANKS.

  • @arturommk emu xboard 25, yes the oxygen will work with kontakt

  • maschine is the way 2 go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rasupreme yessir, I have Maschine...love it.

  • How do you update to BTV 2.0 VST? i'm still on BTV 1.0

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX go to the website under support and download the update.

  • @SoundsAndGear thanks......but i have one other question....can you export any of the sounds out of btv to be use in other systems?

  • @SPEEKERBOXXX really no way to export, unless you make a simple beat and export that so you can chop it. Or load it as a plungin and play the sounds into your daw so you can chop them into single hits. You there is no built in way to export the sounds alone, though there are many ways you could do it yourself.

  • oh alright. yea i was messing with it and figured it out but thanks for the help!

  • @poofcaffs2 coo yo, glad you got it workin.

  • hi i have a problem and i was wondering if you can help :)

i have trouble setting the quantize on this for some reason. i dont know what swing to set when i use 1/16. everytime i play back its off beat.

    am i making sense??

  • @poofcaffs2 there really is no setting for swing, you just mess with it according to how you want your stuff to sound. The quantize is what will move your notes around, but if it's all the way off beat when you play it in, quantize won't help. Your stuff shouldn't be off beat when using 1/16 unless it's way off beat when you play it in. Swing really doesn't have much to do with the sounds being off beat.

  • yo bro do you mayb know how i can save the to mp3 when im don

  • @StraatRhymz1 export it to wav, then convert it to an mp3, this program doesn't save in mp3 format.

  • @SoundsAndGear I bought the BTV but i think its an absolute waste of time...i would rather use reason 4.0 and recycle to chop up samples. What is the purpose of this. you cant even build a whole song on it. I have the MPK 25 USB Midi controller and i use reason 4.0. This has some nice sounds in it but i can do all and more on reason. and arange beat. paste, copy you know.

  • @dtgrayson I agree wit ya man and have been telling folks the same thing for a while. This program is NOT a replacement for a full daw/studio like reason, ableton, flstudio, etc. It's cool if you want a different tool but it's not ready to be the main program yet. I think it needs quite a few updates myself, chopping with it is very tedious and time consuming. Like you said, some decent sounds, once they make it a plugin or rewire I think it will get more use as a sound module.

  • you can use AVS audio editer,,or even audacity,,as long as you save it in WAV format..

  • can you use midi sync on this program? i want to track it to pro tools

  • @daytona500 it can respond to midi, not specifically midi clock or whatever but you can send midi to it multitimbrally. I would just export the wavs and bring them into PT

  • when is the vst cumminnn out ?

  • @TrimzBeatz man I wish I knew lol, I keep asking the same thing, they keep saying "soon" lol.

  • cool beat my dude.

any suggestions on what softwareprogam to import the"beatkang/beatthang" beats into.?.?...

  • @Padwork1 anything really, reaper, logic, protools, sonar, studio one, ableton, whatever you prefer

  • Yo St. Joe.... I gotta apologize for my previous post.... I was just really mad at myself for "being lured in by a the blue neon".... shit messed up my whole morning... anyways my bad for getting worked up bout it and bringing my dirt to your kitchen! i removed the post...

PS: watched some more of your videos and i gotta give you the props!

Nice reviews! and you fixed my choke problem in ableton live!!! had to use a sampler before cuz i hadn't figured out the cut-off/choke function!

    Big up!!!

  • @DrezotheDog I feel ya, this video specifically wasn't a review is what I was trying to say lol. It's all good yo. I have some other videos showing the functions of this software, this video was just in response to a request just showing the general workflow of it. If you have some specific questions let me know I may have a video covering it!

Glad you found the vids helpful man, I understand how it goes sometimes, I'm going to remove my previous comment as well, it's all love!

  • Comment removed

  • @DrezotheDog St. Joe.. This Dude is just a Straight Hater! Block him if ya want to.. he's a looser who's job is to hate

  • @KangBoomBAP it's all good yo, peeps get frustrated at times, it's okay, we got it worked out man, it's all love!

  • yow fl9 got some tricks up the slvs u just dont know...am crazy over the beat thang now doe tumbs up

  • what is the name of the keybord you have

  • @yeaayeaariterite emu xboard 25

  • FUCK FL STUDIO 9 lol this shit right my nigga is that fire

  • What do I do to hear the SOUNDS???? I downloaded ASIO but i still dont hear the SOUNDS!!!!

  • @JEa10111 not sure what you mean? You have to set the output in btv system settings so it knows which interface to use. If you're using asio4all then you also need to open up the asio control panel and set which output to use in asio settings.

  • how do i trim a pattern if i've messed up at the beginning?

  • @EmceeGeek you can either erase the track or delete the individual notes using the shortcuts. They should have given you a manual with the shortcuts in it.

  • I'm considering getting this program only because it does appear simple to use even though $150 is a bit much to pay starting out. But my main concern is finding a decent laptop under $500 that could run this program. Ok maybe $600 any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • I run it on a regular laptop from best buy, it should run on any new laptop but make sure you check the specs on their site

  • i need the trial plz !!

  • I think they took the trial down

  • They pay you to makes these vids for that thing?

  • nope

  • lol damn

  • lol, I make vids for a bunch of different software tho, it's all good.

  • Joe where can i get that trail from?

  • the link was on the bottom of the video screen, but they may have taken it down since then.

  • Where can i get the free trail of Beatthang Joe?

  • the link was on the bottom of the video screen, but they may have taken it down since then.

  • yea im enjoying mine but cant get the beats into my fl studio can you help. artistsmb7

  • you have to export them as wav files, go to the export menu, hit record, then play. You can do it real time or non real time. If you want separate tracks just solo the tracks then do the exports.

It will put them in your user samples folder.

  • Very nice, could you please tell me what keyboard you are using and how it hooks up to your pc? Thanx!

  • thanks for watching. it's an emu xboard midi controller, hooks up via usb

  • Grt8 beat man...

What kind of monitors are those?

  • thanks yo, those are Event Alp 5's

  • man that beat is sick! it reminds me Statik Selektah :)

  • thanks fam! I appreciate it.

  • Nice review on this...I would like to know if this is like Guru or BPM (by Motu) or even Battery 3? Keep up the good work!!!

  • well battery doesn't sequence so it's not like tha tone.

It's in the similar style of something like bpm or guru, but much simpler in it's approach.

right now doesn't have a step/grid editor like those two

  • 1st of all keep up da good wrk, (Dope Sh!t) iv been check n out sum beat thangs videos it looks and sound tight especially tha sounds man but is it possible if u just copy Beatthangs library folder and use it on your n.i. maschine like there drum kits ,strings, horns etc

  • nah, they got some proprietary stuff lol, you can't copy them out without recording them into something

  • i KNEW they had the free trial somewhere. that website still works!

what kind of keyboard are you using?

  • thanks for watching... it's an emu xboard 25

  • man they say you can sample from youtube, but you cant from your pc.whats up with that???? how can i sample youtube if possible??

  • it's dependent on your soundcard, if your soundcard can't record streaming audio then it won't work.

  • that is sounding NICE!

  • thanks ches! Whas good homie!

  • man this beat is sick! where can i find this and your other beats. i think i wanna get this one from u if its still available fam

  • I don't have any of my beats available nor am I selling them, I don't really have anything posted online at the moment.

    Thanks for peepin it tho!

  • aww man.its all good though...and deff man your a great producer!

  • thanks yo! thanks for watchin

  • hey i just downloaded the demo. how do i hook up my midi controller?

  • once you install it, go into the system button and set your midi interface

  • its weird . i got it to recognize my controller from what you said but no sound comes when i press keys..what to do?

  • change the octaves on your controller, the sounds start all the way at the end of ocatve 4. Remember it covers all 88 keys. You can also go into system settings and set the midi root note, so if your controller doesn't go down that far you can make it start where your controller starts

  • I definitely thought that was what the problem was, but i kinda questioned it because this is a new laptop i got. what's asio4all? and where can i get that? and also, what should i put the buffer settings to? this is kinda my first time with this stuff, Lol.

  • yeah...asio4all works with your built in soundcard to make it react better for music apps.. lowers the latency and crackling. Factory cards aren't really made for music making...but asio4all will help. Make your buffers as high as you need to not hear static/crackles.

    Definitely download asio4all, it's free.

  • I've downloaded the trial and i'm testing out the sounds, but they sound a little staticky sometimes when i press them, do you know what the problem could be?

  • do you have any other audio software on your machine? Sounds like a soundcard problem you may need to install asio4all to get the best performance. Also, go into the system tab and check the buffer settings.

  • Nice video.. Can you mix in that thing? I mean eq, reverb, delai and other effects?

  • it has fx in it yes, depends on how deep you want to go when you refer to mixing... reverb, delay, eq, filters, etc are inside it.

  • Im kinda old fashioned when it comes to things like this.. I think ill stick with my reason-nuendo setup :)

  • sounds like a plan, it's definitely not a replacement for nuendo! lol.

  • Pretty dope indeed, man friend....

  • thanks for checking it out

  • you tight im feeling that beat...i noticed you got maschine which do u think you will use more???/?

  • they are different, maschine has a dedicated controller so I can't really compare the two. Right now I ike maschine for it's hands on feel more than anything else. But with the beat thang hardware connected to the software it will be pretty much the same setup but still portable away from the computer

  • ay bro does it have a quanyize function on dere

  • two different programs, depends on how I'm feeling lol. Maschine has a more hands on approach, but when the beat thang hardware drops that won't be the case, but you can't really compare them right now.

  • Damn Saint Joe! That was tight! Do you still use the Beat Thang or what would you recommend for making incredibly fat beats with. Not necc. whole songs just hugely sized beats. Any recommendations, VSTs, etc? Thanks again S.J. you rock!. :)

  • Hahahaha lol, thanks yo! Yes I still use it, I just did this one on Saturday. It is a dope program and if they continue updating it and adding features it will continue to get better.

It's pretty quick to lay down tracks in, I've also pulled in my own sounds to use.

Honestly I'm really waiting for the hardware version, so I can take everything I've done in software and move it over.

    that will be dope.

  • yo man you got some blue background now! Upgradin huh? hehe

  • hahaha gotta progress fam! lol thanks for noticing!

  • Ha lol, thanks homie. I do produce...I just don't sell beats and stuff online. I do it mainly for my own music, or my partners/homies.

I'd rather get into music licensing, tv, film, media type stuff than making tracks for artists, that's just how I'm feeling :)

  • thats a cool little beat...do u sellbeats??? beat thang is going to be big....

  • thanks for checkin it out, nah I don't sell beats. It's a pretty cool lil app man, quick to get going with.

  • You should def start producin man. You got the talent and knowledge, no doubt.

  • Around 700MB? That's interesting, I thought it would be more than that! Just ordered BTV after playing with the trial. Was talking to AJA on Ustream last week - I think it's got an old sampler vibe - samples are very raw sounding next to some other software. Looking forward to getting mine. Might take some time to get to the UK though!

  • well, considering the old emu racks were 32mb lol, and even the software versions are still the same size, fantoms and motifs aren't even gigs and gigs of sound. I think we are used to software being huge, but if it's programmed right it doesn't have to be.

Yeah in the UK! I wish they would get the download options up and going, however, just get at aja, he'll send you the software download while you're waiting for your box.

  • I got the trial, Its pretty dope

  • it's a cool lil thing yeah.

  • Very true - what gets me is the UK stores don't think there's any demand for a product like that over here and there is!

Akai offered UK stores a custom (all red) MPC2500 Limited Edition last year and no store in the UK would take it as they said there was no demand and it wouldn't sell. So they offered a white MPC2500LE to Guitar Center in the US instead!

We won't get Beat Thang hardware over here unless we order direct like I have with the software.

  • that's crazy man, straight up dude lol. You'll def have to order it direct lol.

  • Looks cool. Couple questions as usual. How big is the btv program? How many gigs of sounds does it come with? Are they much different from Maschine's?

  • It's not big at all actually, about 700mb or so, fast loading. The sounds are different than maschines, reminds me of the emu mophatt stuff, the drums are hard and the riffs are nice, but it doesn't have as many "general" Instruments as Maschine.

  • I see. Thanks for the info. I wonder if a template could be set up to control it with the Maschine.

  • I used maschine to control it, but again, only basic midi. I could start/stop it and play the sounds, but not control any of the knobs or anything.

  • Nice!!!

  • thanks rev!

  • nice

i got a kinda weird question: how do yo control the length of one note ? i'm using only maschine currently and i cant get it to work so that e.x. my keys last as long as i push the button, and dont just cut off

thanks ! and keep up the videos

  • are you using maschine with btv? or you just asking in general? What keys are you playing and when are they cutting off? I need some more info lol.

  • No, just in general. it doesnt matter, for instance the keys maschine comes with. Lets say i hit the key: How can i get the melody of that key last forever, without starting it again (what the note repeat would do). Thanks !

  • Well, I'm not sure what you mean by last forever lol. The instruments are set to play when you press the key, if it's a sample you can set it to oneshot and it will play all the way through, however they won't last forever, note repeat will just make it start over and over as long as you hold it down.

  • ah i see, that would be the difference between instruments and samples lol. i'm new to this beats world, pardon ;)

    thanks again !

  • no problem man! Glad to help.

  • not bad

  • thanks
