Heres my interpretation of the video

The red colour symbolizes socialism, while the songtitle "we share our mothers health" means that we inherit social norms and genetics from our parents, which is what limits most people in a society to be "the lowerclass folk" or straight up criminals who wouldn't care if they were dead. everything is relative, there is a reason for every action and every personality in our world. The birds flying around symbolize people who were sent off the nest "properly"

It's not so bad, as far as remixes goes.. they did some interesting editing to the vocal tracks, which sound simpler in this compared to the original, and the background beat is more melodious too. On the whole it sounds more chill and less edgy than the original... But the main reason I like the original is because of that edgy, slightly grating quality, and it made the mv animation seem that much more awesome. So I don't like it too much, but it's still good!

I feel like if you can't reconcile this with the original, you're looking too specifically for something that touched you when you first heard the original. There's a lot of small but extremely pertinent differences that altogether make this a completely different song, down to the part of the beat that the vocals come in.

But I'm also a big fan of the Knife (your comment about them not being bound by conventional music parameters reminds me of my bf, he thinks they are probably the most original band out today).
