Considering Tarja spent YEARS learning how to sing the opera style she does, I think Annette does a wonderful job on this song. Give her credit guys, this is a VERY hard song to sing, much less as good as Tarja did. Annette is just as good a vocalist as Tarja, just a different style. If she's good enough to be chosen to replace Tarja, she's good enough for me.

I don't care what some Tarja's fanboy thinks but for me this version with Anette sounds a lot better than with Tarja. Marcos voice combined with Anettes' on chorus works great. No need for those awful high pitch classical screams.

Could you stop the arguments already? Tarja used a classical singing which is completely different from usual singing. That way her voice sounds more harmonic and powerful kinda like in opera. Anette doesn't use such technique. She simply sings like you do in shower just way better. These songs do sound better with Tarja, but what would you expect? They were written for a soprano and Anette is mezzo-soprano. I think she actually does really good for singing a song out of her vocal range.

It isn't worng to prefer NW with Tarja of course, it's just that I think people is being a bit unfair sometimes not only with Anette, also with the whole band. A person doesn't make a band, what about Tuomas, Marco ect? Btw Anette has performed her voice so much. I've listened to 2012 live performances and this is shit compared to them.

Sure dude, for my music taste, the new Nw album is much better than dark passion play, annette has performed her voice so much,and the music is excelent! tuomas is really the band's brain.

But I will allways prefer Tarja as a singer, she has a perfect and armonic lead voice, and she gave to the band a unique touch, nw used to sound a little bit power metal in some songs. It was awesome, and now nw lost it, just this.

It's not like she can't sing, she just can't hit the same notes Tarja did. It's unfair to compare their skill levels, since, well, it's kinda obvious she's not as well-trained. They did the song to suit her vocals. She's not as strong a singer, either. Not bad, but not the same for sure. I'm sure she's trying her best though, at her skill level - I hope. But maybe she should just stick to the new songs, the old songs aren't built for her voice, and it just ends up sounding really... unfortunate.
