I was lucky enough to get my hands on what I assume was one used in a Mc'Donalds as the keys only go up to $9.99. Beautiful clean stainless steel machine. The only problem I'm having is it will not total and is stuck in the sale mode, so it can only be opened manually with the key.
I recently found one of these in a barn of a farm. It's model # is 46951. What is the value on something like this? It is not rusty at all and looks to be easy to just clean off.
I have a similar one of these also. It was a bit rusty when I got it, which has now been sand blasted and ready for primer. The original colour was a hammerite blue silver. I can't find this colour in the stores. Do you know anything about the original colours that were used on these?
The Swedas that were used in McDonalds usiually only went up to 9.99 in the money butttons. That one goes up to 999.99 in the money buttons. Its possible that one could have been used in a dept store with higher priced ticket items
I have a Sweda Cash Regiister like this for sale. It was used in a grocery shop in Breckenridge, CO. Please get in touch! I'll let it go for a good price. We are a store going out of business soon! Andrew
The Sweda registers are my favorite registers as well but I have yet to get my hands on one. A local barbershop has one tucked away in their back room, I may see if they want to part with it.
I used to use a Sweda register back when I was a young teen working at a record store. I always found that one to be backwards - you hit the motor bar by itself for TOTAL, as there was a SUB TOTAL key in the second position next to the "6" row. You did an amazing restore on this. Thanks for sharing.
