Because it wasn't a 720 dunk, it was a 540 dunk. He had only done 1.5 rotations when the ball hit the hoop. He used the hoop to twist an additional 180 degrees on his way down.

let me ask you something. How many 360's are really complete 360's? Kobe's aren't, he used to spin 180 all the time. Jay Rich does the same thing, so did desmond mason. The point here, is not the technicalities lookin at the rotations or degrees. Look at the dunk as a whole, it is labeled a 720, on the show it is called a 720, so it is respected AS a 720. I still believe that his dunk, is the most difficult dunk ever completed in history. It should be number one.

Most difficult dunk ever? No one was even on him when he made the dunk, nor did they even try to block him. It's not as difficult than one handed dunking on someone who has a hand right in your face, or dunking blindly when an opponent knocks a guy's headband over his eyes. Show me the guy doing the same dunk with a guy trying to deflect it, then it will be the most difficult dunk ever.

Look at it again. It happened during a "streetball" match and when he got the ball, he slowed down slightly to see if anyone was going to try and stop him. He would not have attempted it if a defender had been trying to go after him to stop the easy dunk.

@SergeSCLegend and1 games have no D. it was not a 'fast break' it was a wide open dunk. he jogged up to the rim. my main problem with it is that he didn't actually do a 720 because he started facing away from the rim. If you watch someone like Nique do a 360 they will do a full 360 in the air and dunk it. he did a 540 at best especially because he wasn't facing the rim when he dunked it either.
