Tom Baker was my 1st into. to Doctor Who as a child on PBS. He was what I remember till the New Doctor Who came out 5 years ago and Tourchwood. The new made me remember. It is one of the reasons why I love old Sci-Fi movies with bad special effects and love old movies with great special effects.

Ah yes, Tom Baker and Queen. Two of the absolute best at what they did. Tom Baker will always be the best Dr. Who by far. You also have to consider the wonderful timeperiod when he played the part too. There are just so many reasons as to why the Baker years were clearly the best.

I didn't start really watching Dr. Who that faithfully until Tom Baker took over the part. Then I fell in love! He is so eccentric and strange, but that's what I like about him. He infused the character with so much more energy and vitality than the previous 3 actors who played the role. I knew in advance that he was going to regenerate into another incarnation at the end of "Logopolis", but when it actually happened, I went sick on my stomach! I knew it was the end of an era! I felt so sad!

I saw this show for a brief time years back when I was trying to beat Turok 2 and immediately fell in love with it. I was very young, then, and have spend so long trying to find out who played the Doctor at the time. Tom Baker is obviously my favorite. I thought the rest sucked.

For American Whovians like myself, Tom Baker was the first Doctor we experienced (he was the Doctor when the series finally hit American television). Although I agree that David is fantastic, Tom's will always be the face in my head when I think of "The Doctor". Loved this tribute, thank you.
