  • I have always said that this album was just as good as "Jailbreak" if not better...

  • Awesome! One of their best songs, off a great album... where does this new footage all come from? Thanks for sharing it with us...

  • Such a powerful song!

  • Firstly a healthy happy phillip Lynott doing what he did best. Great album great song.

  • Great, fantastic song, but the playback here is most definatly not live :P

  • Best band ever!

  • Always thought of TL as Euro's answer to Lynyrd Skynrd, leading a whole generation of seventies kids (myself included) down the path to rock'n'roll enlightment!

  • You idiots ...this song was written about Rocky Athas, after they saw Rocky preform at Mother Blues in Dallas Texas. Rocky now plays guitar for John Mayall

  • @superdeathbang Thanks for the info superdeathbang. We were musing about who 'Rocky' was so dont be too harsh on us :)

  • @sbyrne1 Well if you listen to the interview with Robbo he said he was in love with a girl but she hated him and Phil wrote the song with Robbo in mind.

  • Underplayed and underappreicated. Their best album IMO.

  • more lizzy fans should listen to this one;two words cool ;awesome;

    .

  • Great song! Great album!

  • Oh to live in a time when music like this was being made

  • "Spent his time just looking for KICKS!" YEEEEEEAH! Phil was sooooooooooooooo

BAD-ASSSSSSS!!! We need more bands like this, instead of those wimpy Bieber/Gaga wannabes! R.I.P., Phil; you are missed here on Earth.

  • Fuckin class ..Phillip Smith ...can you hear me ? !!!!

  • "Rocky" is Rocky Athas. Thin Lizzy wrote the song Cocky Rocky after hearing Rocky play one night at Mother Blues, a local Dallas club. Athas was one of Buddy Magazine’s Texas Tornadoes, along with Texas guitarists Eric Johnson, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and the Vaughan brothers.

  • Great one! Thank´s for keeping it on YT! Cheers!

  • classic.

  • I wonder if Johhny the Fox ever rolled with Rocky. Music hasnt been the same without you brother. R.I.P. phil

  • I've always thought the same thing ;). I read somewhere that Phil apparently wrote this about Robbo and that he is Rocky. And I've always thought the Fox was Phil himself :P

  • That is a great way to see it. One thing though, what characters do Scott and Brian play in the Johnny the Fox album? Jw.

  • whippin' out them mean and nasty guitar licks!! oh thats pure Lizzy alright.....

  • Brilliant thanks.

  • These guys, and I mean the total band alumni was a gift of sight and sound that is the true meaning and feeling of rock.and in my heart will always kick.THIN LIZZY? OH FUCK YEAH!!! and dont forget UFO!
